I. PURPOSE

Provide technical leadership for the Robotics Application Software discipline within GSC Electronics R&D. Define the technology roadmap, mentor next-generation engineers, and deliver modular, standardized solutions to global electronics customers.

II. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Design, develop, and deploy production-ready robotic systems for electronics manufacturing (high accuracy assembly, sanding, dispensing, inspection, etc.)
  • Leverage AI, 2-D/3-D vision, and virtual manufacturing to raise throughput, yield, and cost-efficiency.
  • Partner with product portfolio, mechanical, controls, and quality management to identify improvement opportunities and create innovative, scalable solutions.
  • Travel to customer sites as required (estimated <30%) to lead pilot-project rollout, technical training, and product-level support.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis using data-driven methods and state-of-the-art tools; drive issues to closure.
  • Author and deliver executive-ready reports, specifications, and technical roadmaps to customers and stakeholders.

III. REQUIREMENTS

M.S./Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or related field +≥ 5 years in cutting-edge industrial automation.

Track record of shipping AI/vision-guided robotic cells into high-volume manufacturing (electronics, EV, semiconductor).

Demonstrated leadership of a technical team (taskforce, scrum team, or chapter) of ≥ 3 engineers, delivering on time and within budget.

Hands-on ownership of technology roadmaps, TRL assessments, and stage-gate processes from concept to factory floor.

Strong communication skills with a proven ability to engage effectively across cultures with key customers and cross-functional teams.

Experience building synthetic data pipelines, factory digital twins, or virtual commissioning (e.g., NVIDIA Omniverse, Siemens NX MCD) is preferred.

Practical expertise in at least two modern AI/robotics and vision stacks among PyTorch, OpenCV, PCL, MoveIt, or ROS/ROS2 is preferred.

Expert-level C# or Python coding, ASP.NET / Blazor web-development is a plus.

Six-Sigma Black Belt or formal RCA certification is preferred. International study or work experience is preferred.
