Key responsibilities
As a Business and Sales Development Specialist for Emergency Lighting (EML) in Germany, you will play a vital role in driving business growth, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting clients in creating safer, smarter buildings. You will advise customers on EML solutions, identify and pursue new business opportunities, and help maintain ABB’s position as a leader in building safety and smart infrastructure. This role focuses exclusively on the German market and is an integral part of the local sales team.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Advise on ABB emergency lighting solutions focusing on safety, digitalization, sustainability, and compliance with German and EU regulations.
Identify and capitalize on commercial opportunities in the German market, including lead follow-up, quote conversion, and support for marketing activities.
Build and maintain networks with facility managers, safety experts, and distribution partners to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Continuously develop technical and commercial skills (EML products, German market) while staying updated on legal requirements.
Actively contribute to teamwork, marketing campaigns, process improvements, and knowledge sharing to enhance efficiency and customer success.
Qualifications for the role
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably with a technical or engineering background.
3+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering, ideally in a customer-facing field role (e.g., technical account manager, service engineer).
Strong interest in emergency lighting and familiarity with German and EU safety standards (advantageous).
Fluent communication skills in German and English, both written and spoken.
Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel regularly within Germany.
Proactive, hands-on, customer-focused mindset and a collaborative team player.
