Your role and responsibilities
In this role directs the commercial operations activities mainly for EL Smart Power and Smart Building products in India, tasked with setting and profitably meeting key targets, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Develops and deploys global commercial operations strategy and processes. Accountable to ensure operational performance, lead productivity and process improvements, and fulfil customer's service level expectations. Leads, develops, and coaches local Commercial Operations team.
The work model for the role is: #Li-Onsite.
The role will support for the Electrification Smart Power & Smart Buildings Business, to be based at Bangalore, India.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Oversee and enhance the entire order-to-delivery and after-sales support process for India by applying best practices, boosting operational effectiveness, improving customer satisfaction, and ensuring compliance with established performance objectives.
Enhance forecasting accuracy, improve inventory turns, ensure on-time delivery, reduce lead times, manage aging stock, minimize delivery errors, accelerate complaint resolution, and increase digital order penetration.
Implement integrated business planning across sales operations units, refine inventory governance, align demand with finished-goods availability, and optimize processes to reduce delivery lead time and improve DIH.
Standardize sales & operations planning, purchasing, and fulfilment processes while ensuring visibility of excess stock regionally and maintaining accurate forecasting to ABB supply units and external suppliers.
Oversee logistics operations—including inbound, storage, picking, value addition, outbound, and documentation—while monitoring and improving third-party logistics performance and supporting contract renewals or modifications.
Build organizational capability by coaching teams on gap analysis and continuous improvement using lean and value-chain tools, ensuring warranty service quality, ensuring safety compliance, and developing a reliable operations organization.
Qualifications for the role:
Over 10 years of manufacturing or operations management experience in multinational companies.
Several years of relevant experience in the Electrification industry; engineering background.
Extensive skills in market intelligence, strategic thinking, implementation, business process improvement, and operational excellence; Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
Deep cultural awareness with a collaborative working style and effective communication skills.
Notable communication abilities and leadership qualities, capable of leading teams, supporting personal growth, and initiating changes.
A deep commitment to customer satisfaction, consistently delivering on expectations and cultivating productive relationships both inside and outside the organization.
