Your role and responsibilities
The High Power Division offers a comprehensive product portfolio, including customized designs for various industries. The division focuses on developing advanced drive systems and high-efficiency motors and generators, which are critical in various industrial applications.
In this role you will be responsible for assigned simulations and software development activities in your specialized area, focusing on electromechanics and frequency converter supply effects to electrical machines. The seniority of the role can be adjusted between Senior and Principal based on your background and experience.
We offer a hybrid working model, and the role requires approximately 50 % work time presence in our offices in Pitäjänmäki.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Implementing specified programming needs in the form of an application
- Applying your expertise in electromechanics and the interaction of electrical motors with power electronics, primarily in drive systems
- Serving as a Subject Matter Expert within your area of responsibility
- Working independently as part of a team and communicating effectively with various stakeholders on development activities
- Providing leadership to temporary working teams, guiding and monitoring task completion, as well as sharing expert knowledge and advice
Qualifications for the role
- Strong knowledge of electromechanics, particularly electrical machines such as induction and permanent magnet motors
- Several years of programming experience, or at minimum, good programming knowledge combined with a strong willingness to learn and grow
- Proficiency in one or more major scientific programming languages (e.g., C, Fortran) and scripting languages (e.g., Python)
- Knowledge of frequency converters related to electrical machines is an advantage
- M.Sc. or higher university degree in a relevant field of studies
- Fluent written and spoken English. Finnish is an advantage
