Your role and responsibilities
Are you ready to contribute building the gold standard in internal controls? We are seeking an experienced Risk and Compliance SME to enhance and maintain our Hire-to-Retire end-to-end global controls framework and strengthen our HR compliance efforts. This is a crucial specialist role that ensures our internal controls environment is robust, tailored based on ABB standards and culture, and aligned with global compliance and financial reporting standards.

Work model: hybrid (#LI hybrid)
Location: Poland, India
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Help to shape the Hire to Retire (H2R) control strategy: support special projects impacting the H2R space, H2R risk and controls (such as HR projects, M&A, system implementations).
- Oversee the H2R end-to-end global controls framework: oversee global H2R processes and controls landscape; redesign and implement controls; conduct trainings; offer tailored support to individual geographies as needed.
- Provide Internal Controls tools support: implement, maintain, and monitor IC components across applications, functionalities, and reports, including Workday.
- Operate H2R Controls: design, execute, and monitor operational-level controls.
- Strengthen HR Compliance: support compliance initiatives including Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption (ABAC), Segregation of Duties (SoD), Cyber Security, ISO certifications, and Sustainability.
- Manage deficiencies and monitor controls: align global deficiency descriptions and ownership, assess risk exposure, conduct process reviews, and support action plans.
- Facilitate stakeholders and audits: review policies and processes, support internal/external review/testing and audit queries.
- Build capability and culture: whenever necessary, develop and deliver training programs to promote control awareness and accountability across the organization.
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CIA, or equivalent certification preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in internal controls, assurance, audit, or compliance within multinational environments.
- Demonstrable field experience as a Compliance or Internal Controls SME.
- Deep technical skill in SOX 404, COSO framework, and global internal control standards.
- Experience within the H2R process area.
- Demonstrated ability in designing and implementing risk-based controls frameworks.
- Highest level of integrity combined with excellent analytical skills.
- Proficient stakeholder management and communication skills across functions and geographies.
- English language proficiency.
- Experience with Workday is an advantage.
