Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to formulate the people strategy & review the execution of HR processes, thus ensuring effective and sustainable workplace relations. Each day, you will provide HR Support for a country and ensure country fiduciary people requirements are met. You will also showcase your expertise by driving effective communication, engagement, and collaboration across the organization.

The work model for the role is: hybrid

This role is contributing to the Automation business area and Country HR Function in Japan. Main stakeholders are Country Holding Officer, Automation Local division managers, and other business area HRBP as well as other functions such as Automation divisions manager as wellnsert main stakeholder groups if available}.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Leading effective collaboration of the HR community while ensuring overall HR contribution and value-add to the business, in partnership with the Functions and Shared Services across the country.
  • Monitoring compliance with legislation, HR policies, and other compliance standards in all areas of responsibility and ensuring all HR-related fiduciary responsibilities are met in the country, including reporting, legal structure, internal and external auditing, integrity, etc.
  • Reviewing the execution of relevant HR strategies, policies, procedures, tools, and thought leadership such as, culture, talent acquisition, succession planning, workforce planning, organizational design, Diversity and Inclusion (D&I), Learning and Development (L&D), people performance, Compensation and Benefits (C&B), and global mobility.
  • Monitoring the implementation and success of change management initiatives across the areas of responsibility.

Qualifications for the role
  • You are highly skilled in people management and the energy or industrial sector at a large multinational company in Japan
  • You have 10-15 years of experience in the Hire to Retire end to end process, excellent knowledge of the fiduciary HR duties, and exposed to manage several legal entities,
  • Possess an enhanced knowledge of Human Capital Management system such as Workday
  • You are passionate about making an impact, with strong emotional and culture intelligence, excellent communication skills and stakeholders management
  • Master’s Degree in Human Resources (HRM / HRD / People Management) or equivalent preferred, completed by an MBA (an advantage)
  • You are at ease communicating in English and Japanese - at least JPLT 1 level, at all level in the organization, including group executives
  • You hold current Shakai Hoken Roumushi / Certified Social Insurance & Labor Consultant – “Sharoushi”, a definite advantage and a valid working permit
