Your role and responsibilities
As People & Culture Manager in ABB Robotics Sweden, you will get the opportunity to be at the very heart of our ongoing transformation, where People & Culture is a key enabler of growth, speed, and accountability. This role combines strategic leadership with clear country-level fiduciary ownership, ensuring that the business can scale, perform, and compete while meeting all people-related legal, governance, and compliance requirements in Sweden. This is a unique opportunity to shape the next chapter of one of the world’s most influential robotics organizations.
In this role you will partner closely with local and global businesses and functional leaders to translate strategy into execution. From shaping culture and organization design to ensuring great people's governance, you will play an important role in enabling ABB Robotics to handle a technology-driven growth journey.
Key stakeholders include local and global business leaders, functional leaders, Finance, Legal, the People & Culture community, and Shared Services. Together, you will help build a high‑performance culture that accelerates ABB Robotics’ journey into the future.
Work location: Västerås, Sweden
You will be primarily responsible for these priorities:
Lead the People & Culture agenda at country level: In alignment with the global People and Culture strategy, and in collaboration with the local People & Culture team, this position will primarily be responsible for balancing strategic partnerships with fiduciary accountability and effective execution. The position will also be a part of the Swedish management team.
Act as the fiduciary owner for People & Culture: Ensure full compliance with local labor law, governance, internal controls, and ABB policies, proactively managing people-related risks and obligations.
Union & Works Council Relations: Act as the contact for central Union & Works Council Relations in Sweden. This includes MBL consultations (co‑determination processes) before bigger business decisions, collective bargaining agreement (CBA) interactions and ensuring HR policies align with Swedish labor market practices.
Lead the country's People & Culture priorities: Define and deliver priorities aligned with the global people and culture strategy, with a clear focus on productivity, growth, and business performance.
Advise with impact: Partner with global and local business- and functional leaders to understand organizational needs and translate them into clear people, organization, and capability solutions that enable execution and accountability.
Implement end-to-end People & Culture excellence: Aligning with the global People and Culture strategy, the position will provide specialized insight and guidance across key areas including culture, talent acquisition, succession planning, workforce planning, organization design, Diversity & Inclusion (D&I), Learning & Development (L&D), performance management, Compensation & Benefits (C&B), and global mobility.
Lead the People & Culture community: Take accountability for collaboration, capability, and delivery across the Swedish People & Culture team, working closely with global functions and Shared Services to create great value for the business. This will be driven in alignment with the defined global People & Culture strategy. This includes the functional leadership of a team of local HR Business Partners and a Talent Acquisition Partner reporting directly.
Be a catalyst for change and results: Challenge legacy ways of working, accelerate decision-making, and ensure that People & Culture enables speed, ownership, and measurable outcomes. Together with local HR Business Partners lead local change management during transformations, reorganizations, or integration projects.
Qualifications and Experience
Demonstrated senior People & Culture / HR leadership experience in a complex, international, or matrixed environment, min 10 years.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Behavioral Science, or similar.
Extensive knowledge of Swedish labor law, people governance, and fiduciary responsibilities at country level.
Demonstrated ability to operate as a trusted advisor to senior leaders while maintaining clear ownership and accountability.
Great communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse organization.
Experience managing organizational change, culture transformation, and people strategy execution in growth or transformation contexts.
A pragmatic, business-oriented mindset with the ability to balance strategy, compliance, and hands-on delivery.
Effective stakeholder management skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and implement changes at all levels.
Fluent in English and Swedish.
