This Position reports to:
Service Operations Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for leading quality testing, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for switchgear systems, covering Incoming, In-Process, and Outgoing stages, in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 17025, and IEC standards such as IEC 61439 and IEC 62271. This role includes managing
supplier audits, verifying technical specifications, and overseeing quality control throughout the production process.

This role is contributing to the (Electrification) in {UAE}.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Take overall responsibility of service workshop operations enduring timely completion of all service work orders as per ABB QA/QC and HSE standards in line with customer requirements as per contract.
- Take ownership for service workshop activities ( such as LV/MV breaker maintenance, Low voltage module assembly, medium voltage equipment maintenance or refurbishment orders but not limited to) by leading a team of 3rd party/direct technicians
- Ensuring service scheduling and resource planning align with customer requirements, contract commitments, and internal service level expectations.
- Coordinating job readiness activities, including documentation, materials, tools, and safety requirements, to support efficient field execution.
- Identifying gaps or inefficiencies in service delivery and collaborating with engineers, planners, and operations managers to implement improvement actions.
- Monitoring service job progress, ensuring timely completion of work and accurate submission of service reports, test reports, and applicable documentation
- Supporting the resolution of critical service, equipment, or customer issues by coordinating with technical experts and internal teams.
- Maintaining and updating competency, training, and certification records for workshop technicians to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
- Recommending improvements to service processes, tools, and systems to enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction.
- Ensuring adherence to ABB safety policies, procedures, and compliance requirements across all service activities
Qualifications for the role:
- You hold a degree, diploma, or trade qualification in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering ion, or a related discipline, or possess equivalent industry experience.
- You bring strong capability in working with service coordination tools, scheduling methodologies, and workflow optimization practices, supported by a solid understanding of the electrical service and electrification market.
- You have Minimum 10 years industry experience in production of low voltage modules and switchgear, service coordination, field service operations, electrical maintenance, or a related technical field, (including experience as a Service Coordinator, Field Service Supervisor, or similar role working with LV/MV switchgear, protection relays, or industrial electrical equipment).
- You are proficient in-service management and planning platforms, such as SAP, Sales force or similar ERP and scheduling systems, along with digital tools used to support field service execution.
- Proficiency in ABB switchgear design tools (such as MNS Engineering) required for the assembly of the equipment in the workshop
- You demonstrate strengths in communication, stakeholder management, organization, and problem-solving, applying these skills effectively in a fast-paced, customer-driven service environment.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to negotiate amicably
- Effective communication skills and a proactive mindset for continuous improvement.
