This Position reports to:

Production Engineering Supervisor


The electrical engineering intern works in our factory, which manufactures emergency lighting products and printed circuit boards. Their main role is to participate in the management of the electronic component lifecycle, the standardization of parts, and technical support for production. They act as a link between the design, procurement, and production departments.

Your role: Take on the challenge

  • Identify and propose replacement solutions for end‑of‑life (EOL) electronic components.

  • Manage projects related to the standardization of the electronic parts system to optimize inventory and reduce component variety.

  • Read, interpret, and analyze electrical schematics to support production activities and continuous improvement.

  • Support the production team in debugging and troubleshooting electronic boards.

  • Collaborate with the design team to validate the compatibility of replacement components and ensure compliance with technical specifications.

  • Document technical changes: update bills of materials (BOM), work instructions, and test procedures.

  • Participate in the introduction of new products and technologies by ensuring a smooth technical transition between design and production.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures, processes, laws, and standards, and integrate these principles into tasks and projects.

  • Align with ABB’s core values related to safety and integrity, meaning taking responsibility for one’s own actions while caring for colleagues and the company.

What you need:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, with at least the second year successfully completed.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and component datasheets.

  • Basic knowledge of electronics and printed circuit boards.

  • Data analysis skills (Excel, Power BI) for component tracking and failure analysis.

  • Autonomy and initiative to manage projects and priorities according to established objectives.

  • A collaborative, solutions‑oriented approach and strong teamwork skills across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Essential bilingualism in French and English, both spoken and written. French is required. English is also required to communicate regularly with customers and suppliers outside Quebec.
