This position reports to:
Head of Internal Audit__
In this role, you will have the opportunity to oversee complex audit operations for large or multiple entities and groups that provide guidance on financial accuracy, internal controls, and regulatory compliance for the relevant entity or functional unit. You will leverage a systematic and disciplined approach to examine records, and report with the aim to improve operating practices, and financial and risk management processes for the organization. You will also showcase your expertise by developing and implementing comprehensive audit strategies and planning in alignment with your organization’s goals and objectives.
The work model for the role is onsite with extensive global travel.
The purpose of internal audit function is to strengthen ABB's ability to create and protect value by providing independent, risk-based, and objective assurance, advice and insights. The Head of Reporting and Core Functions audit is responsible for audits in the areas of financial and sustainability reporting, legal, sustainability, HR, tax, treasury and record to report processes and subprocesses globally. Main stakeholders range from the unit or entity subject to audit to divisional and global business area management, executive committee of the group as well as the finance, audit and compliance committee of the board.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Continuous Development of the Internal Audit function
Talent acquisition and retention to ensure the team has the right skills and expertise to create value for the organization.
Career development and focus on attracting internal talent to join the team and thereby take care of stakeholder management.
Embrace the possibilities of technology in making the function more efficient and effective and implement data driven audit techniques along with artificial intelligence, where applicable into the ways of working.
Continuously develop the function and it’s ways of working to add more value by being more efficient and effective.
Operational Execution
Supervise and direct the execution of financial, compliance, operational and strategic audits (pre-, on-site and post- phases).
Perform quality review of audit work papers i.e. sufficiently complete, detailed and accurate to ascertain the audit work done and to support conclusions reached in line with the internal quality assessment practices of the function and the Global Standards for Internal Audits.
Ultimately responsible for the quality of audits and reporting summarizing findings, risks and recommendations to the relevant stakeholders.
Ensure timely, balanced and valued communication of key audit results to all stakeholders from the audited unit to the audit committee of the board.
Other tasks
Setting individual goals that help the function achieve it’s purpose and conducting performance reviews/actions, salary reviews and other key managerial tasks for the team.
Management of team costs and other administrative tasks.
Develop and train auditors with focus on relevant skills, digital tools and data analytics.
Adopt best practices through liaising with internal audit teams in other companies and associations.
Ensure effective succession planning and rotation of resources to and from the business teams of the ABB Group.
Position internal audit as a talent pool for other ABB functions.
Liaise/networking with external auditors and internal controls teams as key stakeholders along with strategy and ERM teams at both corporate and business.
Qualifications for the role
Minimum 15 years of relevant business and/or audit experience
Expertise in functional skills, such as end to end process understanding, knowledge of tools and policies that are regarded benchmarks in the functional area
University degree in business administration / economics or engineering
Curiosity to think outside of the box, value different perspectives and challenge yourself
Ability to lead diverse, cross-functional teams across the globe
Strong analytical and IT skills
Courage to tackle challenging situations with sound judgment and constructive solutions
Unwavering integrity and commitment to the company's best interests
Strong oral and written communication skills, proficiency in English
International business experience and willingness to travel extensively and globally as well as work onsite, when not traveling
