What You'll Do
- Apply knowledge of import/export regulations to support business needs.
- Analyze import/export data to identify risks or savings opportunities.
- Prepare reports and make recommendations to management.
- Support CBP Requests for Information, Post Entry Amendments, and Prior Disclosures.
- Respond to Broker Requests for Information and ensure resolution.
- Ensure proper classification, valuation, and origin determination for imported goods.
- Implement corrective actions as directed by Supervisor/Manager.
- Coordinate with logistics, purchasing, and materials management on customs matters and provide training as needed.
- Support reporting price adjustments and royalties via the CBP Reconciliation Prototype Program.
- Review and audit import/export records including customs documents, commercial invoices, and shipping documents.
- Elevate issues requiring correction to Corporate C&TC.
- Stay updated on Customs, FDA, and other government agency import regulations.
- Operate under general supervision from Supervisor/Manager.
- Ensure compliant importation and exportation of goods and services.
- Analyze opportunities and make recommendations to achieve financial objectives.
- Maintain confidentiality and work within attorney/client privilege when appropriate.
- Balance cost optimization and compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree: Business, Supply Chain or other related field preferred. • Prior global logistics experience in the freight forwarding area is a plus
- Other: Licensed Customs Broker or Certified Customs Specialist nice to have, but not required.
- Minimum 1-2 years experience in import/export operations, transportation, international business, or other related field.
- Computer skills, knowledge of Excel.
- Sound analytical abilities and acute attention to detail required.
- Effective communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills are absolutely critical for this position.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously and manage time appropriately and independently.
The base pay for this position is $60,000.00 – $120,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
