The Opportunity

Our Diagnostics business currently has an opportunity for a Demand Planner at our Lake Forest, IL office supporting our COREDX business unit. The Demand Planner will be responsible to drive, implement, and support inventory planning activities along with optimization of the global supply chain strategies across the entire supply chain. Maintain target customer service levels and satisfaction and has Signature authority to requisition and/or commit company funds, in accordance with site and corporate financial policies. Ensure divisional inventory processes are in place to identify and resolve inventory issues throughout the supply chain. Responsible for the planning, procurement, on-time delivery, and inventory level of assigned categories.

What You’ll Work On

  • Maintain sufficient inventory to meet customer needs and inventory objectives for Core Diagnostics, as well as develop and implement new processes.
  • Continuously review and update planning reports and factors, to determine material requirements, lead time, standard order quantities, batch size and safety stocks to drive the divisional inventory strategy and achieve the division's financial goals.
  • Effectively communicate material requirements and needs, by providing forecasts and performance analysis when required.
  • Prepare forecasts / Latest Best Estimates (LBEs) for assigned products.
  • Support the annual Standard Setting and Plan processes.
  • Take a leadership role in the implementation of new systems and planning of new projects.
  • Actively participates in problem solving, goal setting, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a liaison between other departments to minimize impact on schedule changes in the product structures or internal quality issues.
  • Determine schedules that will optimize manufacturing.
  • Influence Supply Chain network costs including plant SCOP, transportation, warehousing, and inventory holding.
  • Minimize Distress risk with product expiration while maintaining customer guarantees.
  • Impact Key Performance Indicators: Customer Fill Rate, Forecast Accuracy, Safety Stock, Order Placement Accuracy, Distress target.
  • Maintains positive, safe, and professional communications and collaboration with all levels of employees.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the principles, methods and procedures employed in the acquisition of material, supplies, finished goods, equipment and services.
  • Knowledge of order management principles, methods and procedures.
  • Experience could be from Materials Management, Manufacturing, Planning, or combined experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and application business concepts, procedures, and practices.
  • Uses in-depth knowledge of business unit functions and cross group dependencies/ relationships.
  • Well- developed written, oral and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with use of various software applications such as MS Word, Excel, POWER BI, etc.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.

The base pay for this position is $60,000.00 – $120,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
