Abbott Diabetes Care has opened a new site, in Kilkenny, that is at the forefront of Diabetes care with the latest technology, to manufacture Freestyle blood glucose test strips and Freestyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the Freestyle Precision, Freestyle Lite and Freestyle Libre systems.

As an Operations Manager you will lead a team, ensuring that policies and procedures are current and being adhered to This is a head of Operations role reporting to the Senior Operations Engineering Manager. Direct reports will include four Operations Shift Managers (managing on-shift operators and technicians)
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership: Demonstrate a strong leadership presence, capable of building cross-functional relationships on-site and leveraging divisional expertise.
Balance forward planning and development and delivery of strategic initiatives with resolving day-to-day tactical issues.
Operational Management: Exhibit a deep understanding of running an operations organization, reacting to internal and external factors, and providing scenario plans to the business.
Financial Acumen: Display strong financial skills, understanding of operational budgetary management and financial planning.
Operational Excellence: Possess a robust OPEX background, championing a culture of operational excellence and engagement.
Talent Development: Develop the organization by creating development opportunities and building talent.
Partner with HR and Talent Acquisition for sourcing, hiring, and onboarding operations staff.
Education and Experience:
NFQ Level 7 qualification in Science, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline.
Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
Strong leadership, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
Strategic planning experience.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Flexible and innovative approach to work.
