The Opportunity
This position works out of our [Cairo Office] in the Established Pharmaceutical Division where we are committed to bringing the benefits of our trusted medicines to more people in the world’s fastest-growing countries. Our broad portfolio of high-quality and differentiated branded generic medicines reaches across multiple therapeutic areas including gastroenterology, women's health, cardiometabolic, pain management/central nervous system, and respiratory.
As the Demand and logistics Manager, you’ll facilitate the monthly demand and supply planning process and act as the main link between commercial and supply, Logistics Management, Importation, clearance, warehousing, New Products Introduction Process, Coordination of affiliate Strategic Projects.
What You’ll Do:
Demand Planning - S&OP Process
- Coordinate the monthly S&OP process, bringing together all necessary functions to review the assumptions, risks and opportunities leading into sound plans and forecast numbers.
- Own the S&OP process and ensure the affiliate S&OP process is in line with defined S&OP standard.
- The latest view of the operational and financial position of the business through the process horizon is reviewed together with the achievement of business strategies, goals and commitments.
- Ensure key issues are addressed as presented and the required decisions taken.
- The approved plans are communicated as an output from the review together with clear understanding of decisions taken, responsibilities and appropriate commentary.
- Make sure that the sales forecast is aligned to the latest market situation and brand strategy and that the forecast is updated, accurate, reliable and realistic.
- Publish the monthly Approved Demand Statement (ADS) on the PRIME system (VENA) no later than working day 7 monthly.
- Report R&O along with commentary on forecast changes, gaps and gap closing actions to Area Headquarters by working day 9 monthly.
- Responsible for monitoring Business excellence key performance indicators and creating root cause analysis and closing action plans for the misses
- Keep “one set of numbers” to be used by all functions within the organization
- Owner of the S&OP meeting, Demand Review, & Financial reconciliation meetings
- Prepare the S&OP deck and demand review deck for the affiliate including the dashboards from PRIME & Power BI with accurate commentary
- Work on improving forecast accuracy to contribute to lower costs, better customer service, increased market share and better profits
- Manage abnormal demand, tenders, (potential) back orders and product allocation issues and communicate to internal and external stake holders
- Managing DOH in line with Affiliate target and re-adjust the to-market forecast when abnormal market fluctuation
- Provide the base for Plan, RLBE and LRP for the affiliate and update in every cycle.
- Participate in the Strategic Brand Plan, Financial Plan and Long-Range Plan preparation
- Ensure gaps are escalated from the Demand Review with gap-closing recommendations
- Act as expert in supply chain management, forecasting models and analytics.
- Liaise with the supply chain manager on the monthly supply replenishment plan to ensure goods availability on time and in full.
Logistics:
- Coordinate with logistics center on monthly shipments plan and follow up on shipments execution on time with the right freight mode.
- Report and maintain potential & actual back orders on the Back Order Tool.
Importation, Clearance and Warehousing:
- Responsible for supervising the customs clearance and transportation processes of all incoming shipments to the affiliate whether raw materials, bulk substances or finished products.
- Responsible for overseeing the management of Abbott’s local inventory at the 3PL.
- Coordinate between supply chain colleagues and channel management team to align on the supply plan to achieve the targeted monthly sales.
NPI (New Product Introduction):
- Owner & coordinator of the monthly NPI Review at country level. Report the status of NPI projects at the Affiliate S&OP meeting.
- Liaise between the Area NPI Coordinator and the Affiliate organization
- Coordinator of the monthly project status update process at the Affiliate
- Communicate the status of projects at the Affiliate, raise issues, prepare S&OP input
- Ensure New Product Introductions are assessed and included in Demand Planning tool following the monthly NPI review process.
- Owner of the affiliate End-to-End NPI process, hence responsible on updating and maintaining the global NPI tool (ATOM) with all accurate date, timelines and P&L.
- The Product Management process ensures output of numbers and assumptions are aligned to the supply management monthly process.
- Ensure local process is aligned with Region / Division NPI process and Standards. Constantly search for improvement opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics & Operations or its equivalent.
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in production planning
- Determine priorities in a highly pressured working environment, self-motivated, numerate, accurate, logical and fully conversant with Demand & Supply.
- Experience in demand management, S&OP process, project management and logistics
- Knowledge in SAP, Power BI, MS Office Word and Excel.
- Possess strong interpersonal and analytical skills with high level of attention to details.
- Experience in people management.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills
- Has good interpersonal skills and strong command of both written and spoken English.
- Minimum Experience Required: Demand & Supply Chain qualification / certification, preferably a master's degree in supply chain & Logistics
