The Opportunity

This position works out of our Office in Los Militares, Las Condes in the Nutrition Division of Abbott. Our nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow, to keeping adult bodies strong and active. Millions of people around the world count on our leading brands – including Similac®, PediaSure®, Pedialyte®, Ensure®, Glucerna® and additionally a wide products portfolio for hospitals feeding – to help get the nutrients they need to live their healthiest life.

As the Trade Manager, you’ll be responsible to drive alignment with brand strategy and tactics to create customer relevance that build brand equity, drive sales and deliver profit. Exhibit leadership as it relates to customer level event planning. Lead team to recognition as the benchmark for program development and execution. Responsibilities include supporting new product launches, promotion programs, and helping to achieve profit margin/business plan objectives. Developing and managing re lationships and communications with internal and external customers are key. Additional responsibilities include business analysis, budget tracking, project management, and communicating brand promotion programs to Field Sales.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure industry Development and execution of shopper marketing strategies to achieve customer/team specific budget through delivery of strategic and tactical initiative aligned with Business Unit direction.

  • Align brand retail objectives and creative platforms to develop customized solutions (strategies and tactics) that build brand equity, deliver ROI and drive profitable sales via marketing programs (tactics) that target and connect with shoppers.

  • Develop and deliver actionable information (e.g. retailer objectives, budget management, promotional planning, shopper insights and competitive activity) to the brand teams and KAM teams to help drive the business.

  • Lead cross functional project teams focused on execution of programs, initiatives, and/or strategies.

  • Manage all funds that allow for objective analysis of results and a direction of effort to maximize ROI. Keep abreast of the competitive environment and trends within the industry.

  • Develop and manage relationships and communications with internal and external customers.

  • Under the direction of the product manager, reviews and approves special price requests, maintains price bands and price lists and develops pricing strategies for new and existing products.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives. These groups include external customers and consumers, external vendors and agencies, Field Sales, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Department, Logistics, Public Affairs, Marketing, Executive Management and key Associations.

  • Field visits to identify and actively pursue any accounts opportunities and monitor proper retail execution.

  • Quarterly meetings with the merchandising agency to go over on sales direction of retail programs and discuss opportunities of retailers.

  • Work with category management on insights or relevant data to develop selling stories to defend or increase shelf space, product launches among others.

Required Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree is required, MBA is preferred.

  • Fluid English and Spanish, with written and verbal skills.

  • 5 years sales experience in consumer-goods companies or equivalent.

  • 3 - 5 years channel experience in Retail and Pharmacies.

  • Experience leading commercial teams
