The Opportunity

The IT Supplier Management Office (SMO) plays a critical role in aligning IT Leadership, IT Operations, Procurement, and contracted Service Providers to ensure the effective delivery of software and asset-related services.

The SMO ensures compliance with software licensing agreements, optimizes asset utilization, and drives value through strategic contract, performance, and financial management. This role supports continuous improvement, risk mitigation, and strong vendor relationships in the software and digital asset domain.

Role Summary

The Senior IT Vendor Manager - Supplier Management Office is responsible for the end-to-end administration of software and asset management contracts. This includes oversight of software licensing, compliance, renewals, and vendor performance. The role also manages financial arrangements such as invoicing, true-ups, usage-based billing, and internal chargebacks.

This high-visibility position requires collaboration with senior IT leaders, software vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure software assets are effectively governed and aligned with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage contracts for software licensing, SaaS, and digital asset services, ensuring compliance with terms and usage rights.
  • Develop and maintain governance frameworks for software vendor interactions and performance monitoring.
  • Track and manage software renewals, audits, entitlements, and true ups to avoid compliance risks and optimize spend.
  • Collaborate with IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Procurement to ensure accurate inventory, lifecycle tracking, and cost allocation of software assets.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives in software asset utilization, vendor performance, and cost optimization.
  • Provide escalation support for software delivery or performance issues, coordinate resolution plans with vendors.
  • Support contract negotiations for software and asset-related agreements, ensuring alignment with IT strategy and licensing best practices.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Overall, 10-15 years of experience including 7+ years in Vendor Management.
  • Strong experience managing contracts for Software licensing and ensuring compliance with Software contracts.
  • Demonstrated history of managing complex supplier relationships, acting as the primary customer interface during all phases of contract performance.
  • Exposure to legal processes/principles, pricing constructs and commercial best practices - confidentiality, data security and privacy.
  • Track record of influencing, preparing and presenting harmonized and synthesized key messages to internal and external executives and senior stakeholders.
  • Multi-faceted approach to relationship management to include a broad range of communication and problem-solving skills (accommodation, flexibility, support, understanding and more).
  • Experience in packaging high-quality documents with a meticulous attention to detail.

The base pay for this position is $127,300.00 – $254,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
