The Opportunity
This position works out of the Irvine, CA site in the EP Electrophysiology division. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
What You’ll Work On
- Prepare financial analyses and reports to support Annual Plan and Latest Best Estimate (LBE) quarterly forecast process for all aspects of Electrophysiology (EP) Division support the month-end close process and reporting of monthly financial performance metrics.
- Conduct and document financial analysis projects by collecting financial data, including formation on costs, prices, expenses, investments, cash flow, Profit & Loss (P&L), inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, and revenues.
- Develop budgets and forecasts in support of Annual Plan, LRP (long-range plan), and LBE (Latest Best Estimate).
- Prepare month-end journal entries and variance analysis.
- Develop flexible, comprehensive tools and templates to support the consolidation and timely completion of corporate schedules as well as develop system solutions and process improvements that meet the needs of the financial planning and/or reporting requirements.
- Maintain an effective and efficient planning process for the division and functional areas being supported, including the coordination of a planning calendar with key dates and deliverables.
- Perform ad hoc requests and drive cross-business analytic projects for senior management, with financial modeling, data mining and presentation support.
- Support and coordinate processes related to corporate, domestic, and international accounting and financial policies, standards, and requirements, including US GAAP and IFRS.
- Utilize technologies and systems to carry out responsibilities, including Advanced MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and MS Power Point.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or in related field of study with at least 4 years of professional experience in:
- Conducting and documenting financial analysis projects by collecting financial data, including formation on costs, prices, expenses, investments, cash flow, Profit & Loss (P&L), inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, and revenues
- Developing budgets and forecasts in support of Annual Plans, LRPs (long-range plans), and LBEs (Latest Best Estimates)
- Financial modeling, data mining and presentation support
- Supporting and coordinating processes related to corporate, domestic, and international accounting and financial policies, standards, and requirements, including US GAAP and IFRS
- Advanced MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and MS Power Point
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong background in costing and cost analysis, with the ability to interpret and apply costing data to support strategic decision-making.
- Proficiency in SAP and Power BI
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.

The base pay for this position is $86,700.00 – $173,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
