POSITION: Area Automation Specialist EMEA (Base Madrid or Barcelona)
1. Primary Objective of Position
An Area Automation Specialist is primarily responsible to provide support for the most challenging installations / Level 3 escalations. In addition, this role provides advanced technical training/coaching to ADD Engineers.
The position will have as focus Automation.
Travel across EMEA up to 70%
2. Major Accountabilities
Own Automation projects implementation across EMEA
Own Automation 3rd Lvl Escalations across EMEA
Provide service for designated products (Automation, Informatics)
Provide escalated service support - handling most challenging repairs and troubleshooting, escalated from level two and level one service interventions
Participate in customer visits for system performance improvement
Keep track and ensure completion of Mandatory TSB and FA in EMEA
Perform new customers and laboratory site inspections for new contract / tender preparations and design for new installations
Prepare and participate in customer business reviews
Monitor instrument reliability and prepare service recovery plan for highly serviced I highly cost instruments
Training – Perform technical coaching and conduct Automation training for TSS (Technical Service Specialist) and Abbott Ambassador
Propose and track initiatives to reduce CPB for Automation
Participate in Area Expert team for designated products
Work with local organization for customer proactive visits to improve Automation system performance
Analyze existing solutions to provide improvement suggestions
3. Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelors / Engineering degree in medical I electrical / life sciences or medical technology/biotechnical Engineer is preferred.
4. Background
Minimum of 2 years experience in GLP and A36 automation systems
Preferably 5 years of experience as Technical Service Specialist and or a proven track record in a similar position, supported by management and customer references
Successful engagement with customers, specifically key stakeholders and lab staff
Good product and industry knowledge
Strong experience and process skills of the business functions service de livery
Strong communication skills
Ability to identify and drive resolution of issues
Technical expert for product line accountability
Coaching and training skills
English level C1 - Spanish level - C1
Strong experience in use of analytical too ls and software
5. Impact of position
Deliver customer operator training and coaching in Abbott training facilities and onsite and providing on-site automation implementation, application support, and application troubleshooting.
