PRIMARY FUNCTION / OBJECTIVE
Abbott is dedicated to advancing healthcare for patients impacted by vascular disease through the creation and delivery of life-changing technologies.
The purpose of this role is to manage the many seminars, live cases, and hands-on sessions co-sponsored with Japanese physician societies (“Gakkai”), and Abbott-led programs such as observerships and proctorships involving other APAC Vascular colleagues and customers to increase customer knowledge and loyalty with our entire Vascular portfolio (spanning drug-eluting coronary stents, intravascular imaging, coronary physiology, atherectomy, and vessel closure solutions).
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITY
- Manage and execute Japanese “gakkai” programs such as seminars, live demonstrations, technology suites, and hands-on training sessions, in alignment with Marketing and Sales strategy to effectively deliver our messages leveraging the MD-to-MD channel
- Manage relationships with key customers and external stakeholders leading “gakkai”
- Manage budget used for “gakkai” programs and negotiate favorable terms / prices as possible
- Cooperate and coordinate with Abbott colleagues across APAC markets to implement programs for Drs coming to Japan from APAC (to learn via observerships held in Japanese hospitals) and webinars / proctorship opportunities coordinated by APAC countries for Japanese physicians to participate outside of Japan.
- Set goals and assess effectiveness of each event based on Key Performance Indicators (KPI).

Preferred professional experience
- Experience in Marketing or Sales of Medical devices or pharmaceuticals
- Experience in coordinating programs (especially large, on-site programs; around 100 attendees or more), seminars, workshop, hands-on and live demonstrations
- Familiarity with digital channels and marketing concepts
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
Language Requirements
Native-level Japanese communication and Business-level English communication (writing & speaking)
This role will primarily use Japanese, but will sometimes require exchange of emails and meetings with international colleagues (APAC, US, EMEA) in English
