The Opportunity
Our location in Santa Clara, CA currently has an on-site opportunity for a Senior Data Analyst. This new team member will work in Abbott’s Global Data Science & Analytics team within the Medical Device Division. The Senior Data Analyst will conduct projects that generate impactful evidence and insights related to medical device technology, relevant disease states, digital health, business analytics, and healthcare economics.
What You’ll Work On
- Contribute to real-world evidence, health economics, business analytics and digital health projects related to Abbott medical devices
- Work with Clinical Scientist and study team and advise on the methods and statistical analysis plan for studies.
- Perform programming to execute analytics projects and troubleshoot programming issues (in SAS, R, Python, or similar). Validate programs, analysis data and results.
- Interpretation and present findings through figures/tables/reports/presentations, including necessary explanation of data and analysis Writing methodology summary or reports.
- Lead small analytic projects and present to leadership team
- Manage data preparation and analysis of various data types including clinical study data, electronic health records, device-generated data, and insurance claims data
- Provide other study support by reading and summarizing relevant background material, clinical study papers and publications
- Maintain a scientific, analytical mindset on projects
- Mentor junior analysts
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree with 3+ years’ related experience OR Bachelor's degree with 5+ years’ related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree
- Strong data management and data analysis skills.
- High proficiency in at least one database software package (e.g. SQL)
- Excellent knowledge of statistical methods.
- High proficiency in at least one statistical programming package (SAS, R, or Python)
- Familiarity or experience working with at least one EHR or claims database.
- 2-5+ years’ experience in medical device or pharmaceutical clinical research studies.
- Experience working on medical device clinical studies in highly regulated environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality results under tight timelines.
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
- Able to describe complex procedures concisely and accurately.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and team leadership skills.

The base pay for this position is $90,000.00 – $180,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
