The Opportunity

Abbott is recruiting a Senior Financial Analyst for our Neuromodulation division to be in São Paulo, Brazil. The FP&A team acts as the key business partner of the Regional commercial leader while ensuring financial compliance and growth. This position will be partnering with various levels of business teams to drive financial ownership, revenue and margin efficiency, and business excellence. Scope of responsibilities include financial planning, forecasting, and reporting for the commercial division, preparation of presentations for month-end and forecast results, strategic ad hoc analyses, accounting support for commercial operation.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform monthly accounting responsibilities for month-end close including journal entry preparation, spend/headcount review, accounting reconciliation, cross charge, etc.

  • Managing the analysis and communication of financial results (Full P&L) for the division to commercial team & Management.

  • Support development of all business forecast, financial plan, and reviews during the year, from process, governance and figures in partnership with sales and marketing managers.

  • Assists managers with ad-hoc analysis and preparation of review materials for presentation to Business and Finance leaders.

  • Marketing and Travel budget management throughout LATAM cluster to improve efficiency and ensure governance.

  • Offer ideas and recommendations for continuous improvements and simplifications in financial and business processes of forecasting, planning, reporting and analysis, including deployment of user-friendly and meaningful tools for the Comm. Organization.

  • Ensures compliance and champions internal controls and procedures to support all internal & external audits.

  • Complies with all regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in Business & Administration, Economics, Finance/Accounting, Engineering or related discipline.

  • Fluent in English; Advanced Spanish is preferred.

  • Advanced user of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;

  • At least 5 years of relevant finance experience, preferred in FP&A.

  • Analytical skills, with good ability to perform detailed variance analyses.

  • Proactive, inquisitive, and autonomous mindset

  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.

  • Quick learner and adaptable to fast-paced changes and new environment.

  • Customer oriented behavior, willing to solve problems and reach out cross-functionally.

  • Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in timely manner.

  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.

  • Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.
