PURPOSE OF ROLE
To ensure customers, including Healthcare Professionals, carers and patients, are confident in using Abbott products, by educating and liaising with them as required.
Bridge the gap between Hospital and Home / Community for customers by supporting in pre and post hospital discharge.
Become recognized as the key point of contact for patients and HCP’s regarding Abbott equipment.
Help to facilitate patients’ discharge process for home enteral nutrition, who require training on feeding pumps and home nursing support.
Contribute to the development, review, and ongoing improvement of clinical education materials to support patients, carers, and healthcare professionals

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
Provision of professional and evidence-based training to home patients, carers or healthcare professionals, on Abbott products and equipment.
Contribute to the development, review and updating of education resources.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers within Hospital and Community channels.
Work in conjunction with, and as part of the state team, to co build action and territory plans and specific customer plans.
Work within and according to: a). Abbott’s internal policies and procedures, b) local directives as issued by the Therapeutic Goods Agency (TGA) Australia, c) Code of Conduct for Nurses in Australia.
Actively participate in customer meetings and discussions.
Maintenance of own competency records for annual registration.
Contribute to the overall State and territory sales targets.
Establish and build relationships with identified key decision makers. Work in conjunction with Key Account Managers to ensure a one team approach is achieved.
Ensure timely responses and visits are achieved by effectively managing the territory requirements and pre planning.
Contribute to helping to drive a patient centric culture and mindset throughout team/organisation.
Contribute to key discussions regarding hospitals and associated patients during tender review discussions.
Accountability for identifying key stakeholders in the hospital and community patient environment.
Act as a resource, and assist with training as required, of the Abbott field teams, as requested.
KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES
Delivery of high quality, evidence-based education to patients, carers and healthcare professionals, aligned with agreed education plans and priorities
Achievement of territory and or State sales targets through collaboration with Key Account Managers.
Growth in number of patient training referrals and associated product utilisation supported by effective education and engagement.
Timely and accurate completion of customer documentation, reporting and CRM requirements.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written, as well as presentation skills.
Able to effectively manage time and work autonomously, while also being a team player.
A strong and up to date understanding of the state hospital and community environments.
Understanding of the Homecare market, including NDIS and Aged Care.
Interest in clinical education and continuous improvement
Experience contributing to the development and review of learning resources.
Excellent planning, prioritization and time management skills.
Stays abreast of clinical nutrition and enteral feeding practices in Australia.
Required Qualifications:
Registered Nurse Division 1 Bachelor Degree
Essential Criteria:
Current AHPRA registration.
Highly Desirable:
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
Previous sales experience or exposure to a corporate environment.
Understanding of, or familiarity with State tender environment and community patients.
Additional Requirements:
Must hold an active Australian Driver’s license and have the ability to travel domestically as required.
Clear Police and Working with Children Checks.
Must maintain own personal CPD and professional liability insurance for registration purposes.
