For our Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) Division, we are recruiting an EMEA GMI and Pricing Controller to be based in our CRM EMEA HQ in Zaventem, Belgium, office based.

The EMEA GMI and Pricing Controller role is instrumental to drive gross margin in EMEA and is closely linked to the global GMI (Gross Margin Initiative) project, which is a strategic priority for the 5-year margin journey of the Business Unit. The role contains of two parts, where the pricing part is the focus responsibility next to the HQ FP&A work.

The role will be part of the EMEA Finance Leadership team, reporting to the EMEA CRM Finance Director.

What You’ll Do

Pricing Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement pricing strategies for core and new products to enhance market competitiveness and drive revenue growth.
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify pricing trends and customer preferences in the medical devices sector.

Collaboration with Finance and Commercial Teams:

  • Work closely with finance and commercial directors across the EMEA region to ensure alignment on pricing policies and objectives.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on pricing adjustments based on market conditions, competition, and profitability analysis.

Gross Margin Improvement Initiatives:

  • Identify and lead projects aimed at improving gross margin across the product portfolio, including cost optimization and revenue enhancement strategies.
  • Analyze product lifecycle, sales patterns, and cost structures to determine areas for margin improvement.
  • Be the primary contact for all stakeholders in EMEA related to the financial/margin part of the platform.

Cost Control and Scrap Management:

  • Develop and implement effective controls to manage and reduce scrap related to product manufacturing and distribution.
  • Regularly review and assess production costs and processes to identify areas for efficiency improvements.
  • While the European Distribution Center drives the majority of the CRM Scrap Cost, the incumbent for this role will be instrumental in driving CRM-dedicated reporting, ensuring that costs are moving to an activity- based costing approach and that CRM resources help the EDC to drive savings.

New Product Pricing Controls:

  • Actively work with the countries and regions to document launch strategies and ensure the execution financially.
  • Establish pricing controls for new product introductions, ensuring that all pricing decisions are data-driven and strategically aligned with business goals.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to support the successful launch of new products.

Performance Metrics and Reporting:

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) related to pricing and gross margin, tracking performance and reporting insights to stakeholders.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management to communicate pricing performance and margin improvement initiatives.
  • Translate project work into a reporting framework that supports countries, regions and EMEA.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Foster strong relationships across different functions (e.g., sales, marketing, operations) to ensure a unified approach to pricing and margin management.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to drive initiatives that support overall business growth.
  • Support EMEA Marketing and Commercial Excellence with improved ways of looking at the business top-down and bottom-up in a consistent and time-effective way.
  • Be the primary contact for the EMEA Marketing Director and the EMEA Commercial Excellence Director with all financial analysis and P/L-related questions.
  • Assess EMEA-wide investment initiatives, coordinating closely with the EMEA DVP, the EMEA FD, the regional directors, the regional controllers and the EMEA leadership team.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with applicable pricing regulations and company policies.
  • Identify potential risks associated with pricing strategies and develop mitigation plans.

Training and Development:

  • Provide training and support to sales teams on pricing strategies and tools to enhance their understanding and execution in the market.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in pricing and margin management, sharing knowledge with relevant stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Finance, Business or other related field
  • Similar work experience of at least 8 years in an international corporate environment
  • Prior experience in product-related industries, preferably in a sales and marketing context
  • MedTech industry experience is a plus
  • Proven financial influencing skills at senior management level.
  • Ability to drive change amongst peers and senior commercial leaders.
  • Strong business partnering skills.
  • Proven project management and change management skills in a matrix organization
  • Proven mastery on large data handling and tool-drive data analysis.
  • Fluency in English, ideally with another local language
