MISSION STATEMENT OF THE POSITION

The position is the main vehicle to:

  • Understand business strategies (functional & geographic), current and future required business capabilities. Identifying gaps and opportunities for value creation. (3-5yrs)
  • Understand market/technology trends.
  • Development of roadmaps containing sequencing of IT solution to facilitate the achievement of the business strategies. (3-5yrs)
  • Identify standardization of processes and support solutions.
  • Work with the business function/geography and IT Corporate functions to develop the different project business cases and value realization processes.
  • Facilitate the understanding and support the buy in of the Functional Roadmap to the key stakeholders in the function/geography.
  • Asses, align, filter and propose the country requirements to the regional forums in agreement with the functional/geographic VPs.
  • Ensure proper and regular communication of the status of solutions and services for the specific function/geography.
  • Identify and control IT functional/geography costs
  • Assess with the support of Security Officer organization and 3rd parties the current and future risk profile of the function/geography.
  • Ensure that organization has the capabilities and resources required to support the specific business function/geography.
  • Foster required behaviours within IT communities
  • Ensure execution of management routines

MAIN OUTPUTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

OUTPUTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. General

  • Builds, owns and nurtures strong relationships and provide value-added communications with Vice Presidents/Directors and their key direct reports.
  • Works with senior business management to align and understand business strategies and develop plans for each business function/geography, and how IT Strategy supports that.
  • Works with senior business management on the IT Strategy to assess and establish priorities on global/regional/local initiatives.
  • Works with senior business management to identify critical vs. nice to have functionality to allow re use of existing solutions, process alignment and lower time to market.
  • Enables IT to know technological expectations from Business side.
  • Allows communications flow among IT and Business. (Costs/Projects/New Demand/Services/Audits/Risks)
  • Aligns with BTS Delivery lead in region to understand delivery capacity and collaborate for best use of external IT vendors.
  • Identify and manage IT Total Cost of Ownership for the specific Function/Geography
  • Identify and manage IT current and future Function/Geography IT Risk Profile

2 Responsibilities

Responsible (Fulfills the task independently)

  • Has relationship with internal technology teams.
  • Identifies opportunities for operational efficiency.
  • Service Level Agreement (SLA) negotiations.
  • Manage all business IT demand in a consolidated manner.
  • Lead the development of a comprehensive portfolio of IT investments for the business area and ensures alignment and integration into the enterprise IT strategy and Project Portfolio Management.
  • Actively detect and manage business process improvement & standardization and decision making support requirements.
  • Ensure proper methodology is in place for improving quality and speed in understanding business requirements.
  • Identify and agree with Corporate IT the use of niche vendors (Digital/BI/Analytics)

Accountable (Fulfills the task by coordinating others efforts)

  • Overall solution delivery (project progress).
  • Project issue resolution.
  • Provides initial project estimates for cost-benefit analysis.
  • Supports projects towards desired technology strategies.
  • Release versioning prioritization according to business needs.

Consultant (Advises on the task)

  • Participates in technology aspects of business-sponsored.
  • Evaluate project objectives.
  • Project prioritization.
  • New business initiative analysis.
  • New value added IT proposals for Business.
  • Capture value added opportunities in Business Function/Geography to handle them with technology.
  • Actively promote business process improvement and sustainability in alignment with enabling IT capabilities.

Informed (Is advised on the task)

  • Gains understanding of business strategies.
  • Stays abreast of industry trends in the business and technology.

3 Project Portfolio – Demand Management

  • Works with senior business managers to assess and establish priorities on business IT initiatives, thought strong Demand Management council and governance.
  • Upload and track initiatives on SPM tool throughout demand management process.
  • Analyze business Country Project Portfolios ensuring alignment with Global / Regional Strategy.
  • Challenge and improve alignment of the business requirements with the regional or global template that will be delivered by the Demand Management Process.

4 Budgeting Management

  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of reported budget numbers.
  • Ensure accomplishment of planned budgets.
  • Monthly IT Budget follow up.

5 Execution

  • Ensure appropriate communication of project progress, changes, next steps and milestones to the Function/Geography and the BRM community/Corporate IT.
  • Propose the appropriate changes for BRM IT Organization in line with the performance and advance planning reviews to country IT Directors.
  • Ensure understanding of proper best practices, standards and guidelines that apply to the business.
  • Assist the business during the tracking of benefits after projects implementation.
  • Work collaboratively with the Corporate IT Solution Delivery organization to ensure alignment of IT demand and supply for the business areas and oversee the delivery of related IT initiatives.
  • Responsible in front of the business function/geography for project delivery.
  • Responsible for accomplishing the project objectives within the constraints of the project. Responsible for the outcome (success or failure) of the project.
  • Involved with the planning, controlling and monitoring, and also managing and directing the assigned project resources to best meet project objectives.
  • Controls and monitors “triple constraints”—project scope, time and cost (quality also) — in managing competing project requirements.
  • Collects metrics data (such as baseline, actual values for costs, schedule, work in progress, and work completed) & reports on project progress and other project specific information to stakeholders.
  • Responsible for identifying, monitoring, and responding to risk, issues and dependencies.
  • Manage project deliverables in line with the project plan.
  • Work closely with users to ensure the project meets business needs.
  • Resolve cross-functional opportunities at project level

6 Strategic Focus – Assigned Business Area

  • Ensures business function/geography priorities are communicated to IT community.
  • Enable Communication of IT function/geography Strategies to business executives.
  • Provides strategic consultancy support to assigned customers in filtering, defining or designing business processes and requirements.
  • Researches and identifies enabling solutions, best practices and technologies to proactively address customer requirements, in alignment with IS regional directives.

7. Control

  • Examine monthly reporting ensuring justification of deviations and providing feedback to functional stakeholders.
