The Opportunity
This position works onsite in the Vascular Division. The Vascular division has sites in Temecula, CA, Westford, MA, or St. Paul, MN. Our medical devices help more than 10,000 people have healthier hearts, improve quality of life for thousands of people living with chronic pain and movement disorders, and liberate more than 500,000 people with diabetes from routine fingersticks.

The Senior Product Stewardship Specialist plays a critical role in shaping the safety, compliance, and global readiness of our Vascular product portfolio. In this position, you’ll lead and influence cross‑functional teams to ensure our products meet key global regulations—including EU REACH, RoHS, MDR, and other substance‑ and chemical‑focused standards. You’ll work both independently and collaboratively to solve real‑time challenges, serving as the division’s go‑to expert on product and chemical regulatory requirements. Your work safeguards patients, strengthens our global market access, and drives the integrity of everything we make.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Apply advanced expertise to analyze global regulations and assess product impacts, ensuring full compliance across Product Stewardship programs.
Track company, industry, and regulatory developments to drive proactive, future‑focused compliance strategies.
Explore multiple pathways to meet evolving regulatory requirements.
Develop solutions to complex challenges, integrating regulatory and operational needs.
Build tools, processes, and frameworks with cross‑functional and divisional partners to strengthen the Vascular Product Stewardship program and support other Abbott divisions.
Lead high‑impact projects, assessments, and design activities that shape compliance outcomes.
Draft compliance reports and perform impact assessments for a defined group of Vascular products and packaging.
Support the Product Stewardship team and cross‑functional/cross‑business initiatives to advance the program’s mission.
Prepare and review clear, effective written communications.
Convey information with clarity and precision through documents, presentations, and meetings.
Demonstrate strong communication skills rooted in accuracy, intention, and attention to detail.
Follow through on commitments, incorporate ideas from others, and share resources to advance business goals.
Communicate across functions and disciplines and present insights and recommendations to management.
Required Experience:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, safety management quality, environmental science, scientific discipline or regulatory affairs
Technical experience in chemical, mechanical or biomedical engineering
Experience in product stewardship and/or restricted substance management (e.g., REACH, RoHS) preferred or supplier quality
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Product Stewardship or a related field such as Supplier Quality, R&D, operations, technical support, quality or regulatory
Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work both independently and across highly diverse teams is required
Drives functional performance that meets required standards and regulatory compliance

The base pay for this position is $78,000.00 – $156,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
