Job Description
A strategic and value-adding learning partner to Capabilities Leads (DT, WWD and IFTe), a subject matter expert in performance optimization, capability building and change management. Delivering high impact, cross-functional learning interventions and programs, as well as facilitate best practices sharing for International Brand Teams (INBTs), Affiliates Brand Teams as well as InField Teams. The Associate Director will assist in facilitating AbbVie’s international commercial teams to always be future ready now and stay ahead of the curve on the critical capabilities such Omni channel Management (OCM)/Digital Transformation (DT), Customer Engagement (CE), Winning with Data (WWD) and In-Field Team Excellence (IFTe).
- Report into the Director, Capabilities and Learning Experience, International Learning / iCEX, leading the creation of learning strategies and initiatives for capabilities building, designing and delivering innovative learning solutions to International Brand Teams (INBTs) and Affiliates BTs and InField Teams, always ensuring excellence in execution.
- Under the guidance of the IMCO Leadership Team, the International Customer Excellence Leadership Team, International Learning Team, and Capability Building Team Leads, has a strategic oversight for all learning programs/experience aiming at building the respective capabilities in our Affiliates and in our International Brand Teams (INBTs).
- Works closely with the ICEX Learning TA Directors to ensure that INBTs receive the Integrated learning plan and development they require to deliver optimal content and programs to our Affiliates when it comes to different Capabilities Learning initiatives.
- Working closely with the International Learning Experience / ACADEMY Lead to ensure integration of the right learning contents in our Learning Platforms.
- Partner with Area/Core Affiliates (i.e. CEX and BTS Directors, MABI and Learning Leads, HR Directors, Brand Team Leaders/Commercial Directors, Medical Directors) to ensure Affiliates have the right Learning Implementation Plans and required content and resources to execute flawlessly.
- Working closely with Key Functions stakeholders (ps. IMCO, IBTS, IMAP, MHI, BHR and Talent) to ensure alignment on key common learning strategies and initiatives.
- Develops, coaches and leads talent to ensure continuous high performance and high engagement; ensures consistently high team effectiveness; builds succession plans and develop talent pipeline.
- Manages complex stakeholder relationships and external providers efficiently and effectively to time and to budget with clear measurable outcomes
- Shares agreed outcome metrics for core initiatives, results, best practices and learnings across learning network at Area and Global levels.
- Maintains a high level of Continuing Professional Development in Learning & Development, keeping up to date, external and internal benchmarking.

- Possess business knowledge of the bio-pharma sector including knowledge of the external environment, relevant stakeholders and our customers

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree: BBA or related advanced degree
- 5+ years of Commercial and/or marketing and/or Customer Excellence and/or Learning.
- Working in or strong collaboration with Global Areas and/or Top countries; previous role in Area and/or Affiliate is preferred
- Working in a high performing matrix organization
- Knowledge of instructional design systems or extensive experience in training, development of training and curriculum design
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of digital platforms and technologies to support virtual ways of working
- Master facilitation skills including the ability to deliver programs to multi-cultural audiences, both face-to-face and virtually
- Networking with external key stakeholders, industry forums and learning specialists to inform a compelling and differentiated learning and capability strategy
- Strategic thinking & business planning skills, necessary to diagnose needs, develop, direct and influence commercial training and organizational development
- Able to demonstrate ability to multi-task and meet/exceed deadlines.
- Strong negotiation skills in achieving and consolidating cost efficiencies through Vendor Selection/Supply Management
