Job Description

As an Business Systems Analyst in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), you’ll have opportunities to contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities for the better.

***This is a hybrid role based in Lake County, IL***

Purpose

The Business Systems Analyst will contribute to development and ongoing business applications for the Market Access practice area. They will bring specialized technical or business knowledge to business systems and processes. The analyst will be responsible for managing and supporting application data. The analyst help maintain, verify, analyze application data accuracy and quality. The analyst will also contribute to modifications when underlying factors change.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and routes requested system changes and develops detailed specifications for change enablement. Facilitate discussion with cross-functional partner teams.
  • Consults with cross functional teams to develop understanding of the varied and complex business needs supported by the system. Responsible for identifying gaps and changes needed. Assist cross functional teams in aligning to changes.
  • Responsible for data quality and integrity in business systems. Contribute to the determination of root cause analysis for resolving issues/gaps.
  • Capable of becoming familiar with Market Access data solutions, Big data architecture & concepts, and using big data tools (Hive, Impala, python) to read/write data codes and answer critical business questions.
  • Responds to questions and influences the users regarding current and potential system inputs, processes, and outputs. Conducts research and analysis into the nature, effect and results of system problems. Develops detailed business user requirements, system documentation, workflow procedures, and data modeling. Negotiates plans, time frames and trade-offs while ensuring clients understand the results of the project.
  • Able to identify and communicate needs or opportunities towards business process improvements which could be enabled data, technology, or AI.
  • Able to work effectively with team/group as well as independently to accomplish organizational goals. Active participant in business or team meetings by offering suggestions or asking questions. Can complete regular assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Uses appropriate tools to collect, correlate and analyze data; records and maintains technical system and SDLC documentation and training materials. Conducts tests; develops preliminary findings. Applies and executes standard information systems theories, concepts and techniques. Adheres to Abbvie system standards and procedures.
  • Delivers valuable support to diverse areas across databases and systems, ensuring smooth operations and progress. Utilizes relevant principles to enhance projects and ongoing activities. Completes tasks that drive the success of projects and empower functional teams.
  • Serve as an intermediary/bridge between technical data teams, operational teams, and internal BTS stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required plus 2 years of relevant experience
  • Self-starter and quality mindset. Capable of working well independently and with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving orientation, able to use analytical tools and query data for problem solving analysis and root cause determination.
  • Combination of theoretical and practical knowledge for job functions.
  • 1+ years’ domain and analytical experience required preferably in the healthcare/Pharma industry is plus.
  • 1+ years of experience with Excel advanced, Power BI, SQL, Python, Spark scripts, and cloud services like AWS is required.
  • Ability to work with multiple and disparate data source for analysis.
  • Basic knowledge of master data management (MDM) methodology and process.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
