Job Description
We have a unique and exciting opening to join our AbbVie team for a talented Business Unit Manager tasked with providing strategic leadership and direction for the sales and marketing teams within the Immunology department. With a strong background in both marketing and sales leadership, you will inspire our team to not only achieve, but exceed business performance goals through fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and high accountability. The Business Unit Manager leads the development and implementation of innovative marketing strategies and sales leadership through strategic thinking and data-driven insights, nurturing high-performing teams, developing talent, and ensuring effective cross-functional collaboration.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to the marketing and sales teams by inspiring and mentoring your team to achieve and exceed business goals, fostering an environment of innovation, collaboration, and 200% accountability.
- Drive the development and implementation of cutting-edge marketing strategies through stakeholder engagement to create insights driven, captivating omni-channel campaigns that align with our brand philosophy and resonate with our target audience.
- Lead and coach the sales team to optimise performance and achieve sales objectives by establishing clear targets and incentive schemes to drive success and enhance team performance.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with ability to gather, analyse and synthesise data to generate impactful insights that drive action.
- Foster effective collaboration across various departments, ensuring that the business unit's goals align with the overall objectives of AbbVie, cultivating a culture of knowledge sharing and synergy.
- Ensure fiscal responsibility and strategic allocation of resources to maximise ROI through financial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of business initiatives. and implement corrective actions where necessary to ensure optimal performance.
- Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and potential challenges and develop strategies that leverage these insights to drive growth and maintain our competitive edge.
- Build and nurture high-performing teams through the development and coaching of talent and building succession plans in order to ensure continuous high performance and engaged talent pipeline in Sales and Marketing.
- Provide mentorship, conduct performance evaluations, and foster a culture of professional growth and development.
- Report any adverse event within 24 hours as per AbbVie’s policies and procedures.
- Proactively participate in AbbVie’s WHS programs, adhere to policies and promote a safe work environment at all times.
- Adhere to AbbVie’s internal codes of conduct and compliance processes.
- Other ad hoc duties such as administrative duties, as requested.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification with Marketing/Business or Science disciplines or equivalent.
- Breadth of industry experience in both sales and marketing leadership roles
- Proven track record of delivering results and ability to inspire and lead a team, and work effectively cross-functionally.
- Strong leadership, team management and interpersonal skills
- Excellent cross-functional stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to make crucial commercial decisions
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proven track record of delivering innovative solutions
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Adaptable, responsive and high accountability
- Fluency in English. Additional language proficiency is a plus.
- Proven experience (at least 10 years) in leadership roles within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Previous experience working with Dermatologists is highly valued.
