Job Description
We have an opportunity for an Account Manager, Internal Agency to join our team. In this role, you will act as the client advocate within the agency, ensuring clients’ creative and marketing needs are met. You will be responsible for understanding clients’ businesses and facilitating communication between clients and production teams. This position reports directly to the Internal Agency Lead.
Job Responsibilities:
- Is responsible for the health and status of the internal client accounts, as well as the challenges, and opportunities.
- Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for assigned client accounts, building strong professional relationships and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
- Facilitate input sessions and ongoing communication with clients and agency stakeholders to gather, clarify, and communicate content requirements, ensuring strategic communication objectives are met.
- Translate client business objectives and regulatory considerations into clear creative briefs and actionable guidance for internal teams (e.g., medical writers, design, and production).
- Provide strategic input and participate in creative development sessions, representing the client perspective and ensuring solutions meet agreed objectives.
- Present recommended tactics and creative concepts to clients, collaborating with agency leadership and creative staff where necessary.
- Coordinate and monitor the progress and deliverables of client projects in partnership with the Internal Agency lead, ensuring projects stay on strategy, on time, and within budget.
- Track and communicate status updates, key milestones, and budget information to clients and the Internal Agency Lead, and act as their advocate in agency meetings.
- Prepare and deliver clear, timely reports and analytics related to account performance, project status, and outcomes for both clients and the Internal Agency Lead.
- Identify potential opportunities to support brand teams through expanded services or new campaigns.
- Ensure compliance with branding standards and relevant regulatory agencies (e.g., PAAB, Ad Standards Canada), advising clients and internal teams as a subject matter expert.
- Maintain expert knowledge of client markets, proactively providing relevant insights or recommendations to further client goals.
Qualifications
Education/ Experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree required, degree in Marketing considered an asset.
- Six years or more of relevant experience in advertising working for a multinational company or agency, including two in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in creating, implementing, and deploying marketing campaigns, including best practices (minimum of three years).
- Experience in client-side marketing, marketing research or sales considered an asset.
Essential skills and abilities:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
- Must be at ease with technology (the use of various tools/systems to perform day-to-day tasks)
- Knowledge of Veeva Promo Mats and Smartsheets considered an asset
- Clear understanding of digital development (technical specifications) and assets (images, videos, and formats).
- Knowledge of web tools and trends across a fast-paced digital landscape.
- Excellent communications skills:
- Strong listening and interpersonal skills;
- Advanced French and English language proficiency (oral and written);
- Ability to negotiate and communicate diplomatically and efficiently when dealing with many different internal partners.
- Ability to think and plan strategically (work plans, activities, timetables, targeting) and operating with execution excellence.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders and business partners.
- Knowledge of current pharmaceutical trends in advertising preferred.
- Understanding of new advertising tools and best practices, Pharmaceutical Advertising Advisory Board (PAAB) and other governing bodies.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, and priorities simultaneously
- Solve problems and identify how to deal directly with situations.
- Detail-oriented with excellent proofreading and testing skills.
- Strong project management and budget control skills.
- Aptitude to carry out advertising initiatives across a regulated industry.
- Able to take on creative ideas and provide clear direction to technical teams on project requirements.
- Capacity to quickly identify crises and take timely corrective actions.
