Job Description

The Distribution Manager, EAME Region, is responsible for implementing the Logistics strategy and overseeing some distribution activities for AbbVie’s Neuro, Ophthalmology, Medical Aesthetics/Skin Care product lines in the EAME Region.

Responsible for planning and managing all activities related to the storage and distribution of AbbVie finished goods products within specific 3PL site locations in EAME.

Support the development of best practice procedures for optimizing the distribution of product throughout the supply chain.

Distribution & Logistics Management 80%

  • Negotiation of Service Level Agreements and Statements of Work with 3PLs and sub-contractors as required, reflecting any changes in business operations or service level requirement changes
  • Liaison and coordination with the 3PLs and Supply Chain to resolve any service issues, optimize order cycle time and minimize the cost of distribution
  • Monitoring the service levels of the 3PL providers through monthly performance reviews to ensure the required standard of service is being delivered consistently in accordance with the Service Level Agreements
  • Inventory Management in accordance with SOX & Finance requirements
  • Ensure GDP compliance by the 3PLs and their transportation sub-contractors to AbbVie’s SOPs
  • Validate any repackaging operations performed by 3PL or it’s sub-contractor for compliance to GMP
  • Coordinate internal and external audits of 3PLs as required; i.e. Audit and manage supplier invoicing
  • Manage the tender process for evaluation and selection of 3PL service providers
  • Participate in Supply Chain projects as required and assist in identifying the most effective and cost-efficient distribution channels to support business objectives
  • Act as AbbVie’s escalation point of contact for the customer service team for all country specific distribution requirements
  • Create and maintain necessary policies and procedures for distribution activities
  • Manage and revise AbbVie’s Regional Distribution Complaints process (inbound and outbound) for EMEA and JAPAC
  • Create training material, provide training, educate affiliates and other departments around the complaint system and process.
  • Support Customer Service and Supply Planning in responding to requests or complaints from internal and external customers and escalate order issues as required, support Quality Assurance and Regulatory teams and assist with tracking and audit programs

Inventory Management 20%

  • Ensure accurate inventory management through review of cycle counting, wall-to-wall inventory checks and periodic inventory results for count, batch and location accuracy
  • Coordinate all month end order fulfilment activities with 3PLs to support sales and revenue recognition requirements and inventory DOH targets
  • Ensure timely processing of all customer product returns in accordance with SOP
  • Ensure product destruction is carried out in accordance with AbbVie’s and legal requirements for all written-off inventory
  • Work with the accounting team to ensure all product movements are recorded accurately and reconcile across all internal systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Business or Logistics
  • 5 years management experience in warehouse/freight operations/distribution/ Continuous improvement projects
  • In depth knowledge of the logistics and distribution industry including an awareness of relevant legislation
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrable track record in leading teams and delivering results
  • Strong knowledge of logistics and transportation/freight forwarding processes/customs
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP – SD, IM & WM modules (preferred), WMS and TMS systems in general.
