Purpose
The Director, Technology & Systems, is a strategic leader responsible for the vision, ownership, and continuous enhancement of technology solutions and systems within the Finance Shared Services organization. This role collaborates across Finance, Business Technology Solutions (BTS), various finance process owners (AP, AR, GL, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, etc.), and other key stakeholders to drive digital transformation, agility, and simplification of finance operations. The Director leverages technology to optimize and harmonize finance processes, enable advanced analytics and insights, and foster a culture of innovation and automation in FSS
Responsibilities
- Define and lead the strategic direction for the integration, optimization, and enablement of technology and systems across the Finance Shared Services ecosystem, aligning with business priorities and needs.
- Drive the development of global finance technology strategies, ensuring robust solutions for automation, analytics, and digital transformation across core finance processes.
- Oversee business requirements gathering, system selection/implementation, and collaboration with BTS and other teams for successful deployments and ongoing enhancements.
- Serve as the senior subject matter expert for finance technology, promoting training, best practices, and continuous process improvements to enhance agility and speed.
- Champion the identification and adoption of innovative tools (RPA, AI, data analytics, cloud ERPs, Power BI, SAC, Phyton, Excel enabled data driven, etc.) to streamline and simplify finance operations in collaboration with the Policy & Process Excellence team.
- Provide leadership and direction for technology-focused teams, nurturing a culture of responsiveness, continuous learning, and technological advancement.
- Foster team development to build talent capable of driving future-ready finance technology and process innovation.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure compliance, controls, standardized processes, and optimally delivered shared services.
- Develop and track KPIs to measure impact of technology-enabled process improvements and service excellence.
- Lead change management and communication strategies for new technology rollouts and process transformation initiatives.
Qualifications
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 15 years’ progressive experience in technical project management, systems leadership, or related finance/technology roles. Experience with finance shared services and ERP/automation platforms preferred.
• Proven ability to lead large cross-functional initiatives and influence senior business leaders; experience developing technology roadmaps for finance operations.
• Demonstrated expertise in finance systems, automation, analytics, and product development across finance functions.
• Advanced analytical, strategic problem-solving, and exceptional leadership skills.
• Hands-on experience with process mining, automation, and data analytics tools: UiPath, Power Automate, SmartSheet, Power BI, Python, SQL, Alteryx, etc.
• Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory environment is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
