Job Description

The Director, Corporate Administration FP&A is responsible for all FP&A activities supporting the following functions: Corporate Benefits, HR, Tax, Treasury and Audit.

This position is the primary Finance partner to an ELT member and 20 VPs that supports all financial requirements, provides decision-support, and makes positive contribution to the P&L and key functional initiatives. Supports global budgets of approximately $1.8 Billion and 1,200 headcount and provides leadership to direct and indirect staff of 5.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead the financial planning process for of all planning cycles: Plan, LRP and LBE's that reflect meaningful commentary, analysis, executive summaries and presentations to ELT members
  • Responsible for ensuring monthly financial results are completed accurately and timely and executive summaries with insightful commentary are prepared for the function’s leadership team
  • Lead all financial aspects of key functional projects, systems initiatives and integration activities to ensure finance requirements are implemented appropriately and process efficiencies are realized
  • Responsible for the Corporate Benefits planning and reporting ($1.4 Billion Gross Expenses)
    • Accounting and planning for the following benefit expenses: Pension/OPEB, cash profit sharing, AbbVie savings plan, Medical, Dental, ST/LT disability, worker’s compensation
    • Responsible for the U.S. fringe rate accounting and planning which monitors U.S. headcount trends and the ability to manage over/under recovery at the Corporate level
    • Responsible for coordination of OUS pension/OPEB planning cycles and topside adjustments needed at the Corporate level
    • Partner with Corporate Accounting on global review of Pension/OPEB costs and ensure FASB requirements with P&L classification are executed accurately
  • Support Global functional budgets for the HR, Tax, Treasury and Audit Function ($300MM budget and 1,200 headcount)
  • Support Corporate Tax (property, franchise, sales and use) and Risk Management Programs (Product & General Liability, Property and Casualty, Auto, Marine, D&O and international deductible funds) ($100MM budget)
  • Strategic partner that provides financial counsel for the function’s leadership team and delivering/exceeding financial commitments, spend management, acquisition synergies and other business initiatives
  • Manage and lead an organization of 5 financial professionals
  • Maintain controls to assure the integrity of assets and compliance with GAAP and corporate financial policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA or MBA desirable
  • 15+ years of progressive financial reporting, planning, analysis and experience directly supporting functional leadership teams at VP level
  • 7+ years’ experience managing a staff with ability to develop staff capabilities
  • Strong accounting experience with ability to ensure adequate controls in place and results in accordance with GAAP
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with ability to confidently interact with ELT member and their direct staff members
  • Strategic leader that can drive process improvements, present business solutions and contribute to making an impact to the business
  • Builds strong relationships with peers and cross functionally with partners outside of the team to enable higher performance
