Job Description

The Supply Chain Director is responsible for leading, planning, organizing, and optimizing all activities across production planning, inventory management, warehousing, and logistics. This role ensures the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective flow of goods and information, enabling the organization to meet customer requirements and business objectives. The Director will champion continuous improvement, innovation, and a culture of high performance, compliance, and engagement.

Core Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Project Management

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that support business growth, cost savings, operational excellence, and competitive advantage.
  • Lead the execution of global and site-specific supply chain projects, process improvements, and technological innovations.
  • Actively participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and align plans with global supply chain objectives.

2. People Leadership & Development

  • Lead, motivate, and develop the supply chain team through effective communication, coaching, and performance management.
  • Conduct regular feedback sessions, mid-year and annual reviews, and support succession planning and individual development plans.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive work environment; encourage innovation, engagement, and continuous learning.

3. End-to-End Supply Chain Operations

  • Oversee planning, liaise with procurement, ensure receipt, storage and shipment of materials and product.
  • Ensure material readiness for manufacturing in compliance with GMP, EHS, and regulatory requirements.
  • Optimize inventory levels, warehouse operations, and logistics, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Maintain master data and relevant SOPs in ERP systems (e.g., SAP).

4. Performance & Compliance Management

  • Monitor and communicate key supply chain performance indicators; identify and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulatory requirements, and quality/EHS standards.
  • Support internal and external audits; drive closure of CAPAs.
  • Manage financial targets for inventory, overheads, capital expenditure, and cost savings.

5. Stakeholder & Supplier Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders (Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Global Planning, Development).
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, and contribute to manage the supplier portfolio in line with business needs.
  • Represent the supply chain function to customers, site visitors, and other external parties.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years’ experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, and production planning (pharma/manufacturing preferred).
  • 5+ years’ proven people leadership experience.
  • Certification in APICS, CPIM, BASICS of Supply Chain, or Green Belt is preferred.
  • Strong experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Proven track record in cost reduction, contract management, process improvement, and project leadership.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills (French and English proficiency required).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving ability; able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and CAPA implementation.
  • Willingness to travel and participate in ongoing training as needed.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional, multicultural, and matrixed environments.
