Job Description

We are now looking for a

BUSINESS UNIT MANAGER – Parkinson's

to lead our Parkinson's business in Finland.

In this role, you will drive short-term performance and long-term growth by leading strategic, tactical, and financial planning across your brands. You will directly manage, build and inspire high-performing sales and marketing teams, as well as lead a cross-functional Brand Team, fostering collaboration to deliver on a shared brand strategy. Through your leadership, you will set a clear future direction and translate strategy into impactful, actionable plans maximizing team engagement and business results. As a key business leader, you’ll be accountable for the product P&L, identifying opportunities, optimizing resources, and fostering an environment where collaboration, innovation, and talent development thrive while placing the patient at the center of any efforts. Reporting to the Business Unit Director, Specialty Care, and based in Pasila, Helsinki, this role offers an exciting opportunity to shape AbbVie’s success and your own career trajectory.

As Business Unit Manager, you will

  • Lead and execute all marketing and sales activities as outlined in the brand plans, driving the development and implementation of commercial strategies and tactical initiatives to achieve or exceed sales and margin targets within budget.
  • Inspire, develop, and coach high-performing sales and marketing teams through clear target setting, ongoing skill development, and effective use of incentive schemes and performance management tools.
  • Take full accountability for the product P&L, overseeing financial planning and identifying business opportunities to secure sustainable growth.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration within the Brand Team and with key stakeholders to optimize engagement, teamwork, and execution of the brand strategy.
  • Champion talent development and succession planning, ensuring a robust pipeline of engaged, high-performing individuals in sales and marketing.
  • Integrate global and area strategies into local brand planning, ensuring strategic alignment and consistent execution of AbbVie’s vision and objectives.
  • Serve as a role model for AbbVie Ways of Working, cultivating a culture of collaboration, innovation, compliance, and patient-centered focus.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, we expect you to have relevant experience with a proven track record of success, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry. Strong leadership abilities in managing and developing teams are essential, along with the capacity to translate business vision into effective strategies and execution.

Your in-depth understanding of the Finnish healthcare environment including market dynamics, compliance, and regulatory requirements enables you to operate effectively in a matrix organization and build relationships with key stakeholders. Solid financial expertise, including P&L management, advanced proficiency in Finnish and English, and experience with pharmaceutical marketing and sales are required. Strong problem-solving skills, a forward-looking approach to market opportunities, and demonstrated success in building and coaching teams will ensure you thrive in this role.

Expertise in neurology, particularly the Neuroscience Disease therapeutic area, and established relationships within Finnish healthcare are regarded as strong assets.

Key Requirements

Required

  • Degree in Science, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred.
  • Proven track record in marketing and sales management within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership of large and diverse sales teams, with strong coaching and talent development skills.
  • Ability to develop a compelling business vision and convert strategy into actionable plans.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a high degree of innovation and initiative
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Finnish healthcare environment, market trends, compliance, and regulations.
  • Advanced proficiency in both Finnish and English (verbal and written).
  • Solid financial acumen, including experience in P&L management.
  • Operates effectively within matrix organizations and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of pharmaceutical marketing.

Preferred

  • Expertise in Neurology/Parkinson's
  • Established relationships with key stakeholders in Finnish healthcare.
