Purpose:
To ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the affiliate’s financial records by managing end-to-end accounting, reporting, audit coordination, and tax activities in alignment with US/local GAAP and company policies. The role supports effective financial control, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency while providing reliable financial insights to enable informed business decision-making across the North Africa affiliate.
Major Responsibilities:
Accounting & Audit:
- Maintain and ensure accuracy of accounting records - including general ledger, Intercompany Billing, fixed assets, and expenses.
- Assist the Financial Controller with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing and reporting.
- Prepare Journal Entries, P&L and Balance Sheet reclass in-line with US/local GAAP for Egypt Affiliate.
- Coordinate and support Audit Activities (Internal + External) in North Africa countries.
- Responsible for reviewing invoices, payments, and Financial documents in accordance with affiliate / AbbVie policies and procedures and local regulations.
- Responsible for reviewing the expenses reports from the North Africa Affiliate team.
- Responsible for PO monitoring including full year POs/aged POs.
- Prepare monthly cash flow analysis.
- Perform annual fixed asset inventory for Egypt Affiliate.
- Responsible for receivable claims review, validation, and analysis in line with AbbVie policies.
- Coordinate payroll with accounting shard services and HR.
- Perform the quarterly monitoring and support OEC to develop an action plan for the reported findings.
- Responsible for managing the RTR, PTP, OTC and BPO Processes, ensuring compliance with AbbVie Financial, Purchasing and compliance Policies & procedures.
- Act as the go-to person for ad-hoc related to vendor payments, WHT letters … etc.
Tax:
- Coordinate with the tax consultant regarding all requirements for tax inspections.
- Responsible for monthly/quarterly/annual tax-related payments and submissions.
- Prepare quarterly GAFI reports.
- Support regional tax manager while preparing annual transfer pricing files.
- Review of Social insurance and Tax Returns prepared by 3rd Party providers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree of accounting is required.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of practical accounting experience, with special focus on P2P, R2R and tax.
- Experience in pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
- English fluency both verbal and written.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Virtual meeting platforms (Microsoft teams, Zoom etc.) understanding of business processes and requirements.
- Expert user of SAP S4/HANA with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Strong planning, time management and organization skills.
- Self-starter, able to function at a high level with general instruction, has a proactive approach.
- Must be self-directed and work well in a team environment, be able to work on multiple projects concurrently and meet commitments, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, be process-oriented, convert goals to tasks and define estimates on time and requirements to achieve goal objectives, and demonstrate initiative.
- Adaptable, deals with ambiguity, learns quickly, is flexible and can change courses quickly when needed.
- Professional demeanor, agile and ability to maintain confidentiality.

External Stakeholders: Customers, vendors, external auditors, tax consultants and occasionally tax authorities.
