Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Scientist I with experimental and data science skills to join our peptide hit generation team. In this role, you will:
- Leverage our innovative peptide microarray platform to accelerate hit identification and maturation from peptide mRNA and phage display campaigns, involving analysis of peptide display data sets, design of peptide microarrays, and analysis of peptide microarray data sets
- Serve as the driving force behind all steps throughout the ideate-experiment-analyze cycle
- Work on a cross-functional team that leverages cutting edge (bio)chemical, biophysical, and computational tools
Responsibilities:
- Develop and use proprietary data analysis tools to efficiently analyze large-scale datasets derived from peptide display and peptide microarray libraries
- Routinely demonstrate scientific initiative and creativity in research and development activities.
- Highly autonomous in performing laboratory research or method development, requiring only minimal direction from or interaction with supervisor.
- Formulate conclusions and design follow-on experiments based on multidisciplinary data.
- Initiate new areas of investigation that are scientifically meaningful and can be incorporated into a research or development plan.
- Primary author of publications, presentations, regulatory documents, and/or primary inventor of patents.
- Effectively communicate results and conclusions to a wide range of target audiences.
- Demonstrate high proficiency across wide range of relevant techniques/technologies.
- Maintain a high level of efficiency and productivity. Adhere to timelines.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and typically 10 years of experience, Master’s Degree or equivalent education and typically 8 years of experience, PhD and no experience necessary.
- Possess thorough theoretical and practical understanding of own scientific discipline
- Proficiency in python as relevant for data science, specifically analysis of laboratory experiments with thousands or more data points
- Thorough knowledge of Chemical Biology principles as they relate to the structure and function of peptides, proteins, and other biomolecules
- Experience with mRNA-display, phage-display, and/or DNA-encoded libraries, or similar techniques
- Experience with application of machine learning tools
