Job Description

Purpose:

The Associate Director, Product Development Science &Technology Strategic Projects role will lead high impact, highly complex programs involving multiple-cross functional teams and new initiatives. The role will be accountable for the successful delivery of assigned process programs and projects, building the strategy and plan related to PDS&T business systems for the organization, along with identifying and implementing operational excellence improvement projects/programs to support the entire department. The role will serve as a key contributor in end-to-end project/program objectives and outcomes, especially driving efficiency and agility, and delivering new processes or process improvements and tools to increase the success of the operations. Strong cross functional leadership is essential to drive projects across multiple partners and will work largely unsupervised with minimal direction on follow-up activities

Responsibilities:

  • Formulates program scope, timelines and deliverables independently. Seeks final input from sponsors and management. Prioritizes work associated with program or projects.
  • Responsible at the program level to ensure key projects are delivered effectively (meeting the business needs) and on time.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of projects including driving team accountabilities, addressing project issues/risks, driving effective decision making and delivering status updates/recommendations to function head or senior management.
  • Analyzes business process and impact of new/potential solutions
  • Participate in and drive strategic initiatives identified by PDS&T leadership.
  • Build and maintain collaborative and trusted relationships at all levels within the organization by understanding business needs and providing exceptional project management leadership to advance strategic priorities.
  • Work with functional leaders to propose new projects to continue to enhance productivity, compliance and efficiencies within their functions. Proactively identify and implement opportunities to optimize project team effectiveness and outcomes
  • Develops and utilizes project stakeholder communication plan. Routinely communicates with project team through regular team meetings, ad hoc discussions and documented meeting minutes.
  • Utilizes project tools (work plan, action item log, issue log, etc.) to manage project according to plan.

Preferred Experience: At least 10 years in managing operations, process improvement/analytics or related areas.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7-10 years related experience
  • Experience working in a complex and matrix environment. Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Proven leadership skills and presence.
