Job Description

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting legal fee settlement payments, month-end close activities, and ongoing financial forecasting to support decision-making for legal business partners. In addition, the Financial Analyst will assist with process enhancements and reporting improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports for month-end close activities.
  • Aid the Finance Manager with OEC forecast responsibilities.
  • Maintain forecasting budget trackers and EAL planning calendar.
  • Serve as the primary contact for insurance-backed legal matters, including maintaining impact summaries and supporting carrier invoicing.
  • Monitor capital and project expense activity.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses as needed.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly finance reports (e.g., Passport Report for Deal Fees, Legal Fee Aging Report, New Matter Report, Legal Ops Spend Report).
  • Perform quarterly compliance audits and maintain legal fee balance sheet sweeps.
  • Support settlement payments (< $10MM).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration required.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in Finance or Accounting.
  • Strong communication skills and customer support.
  • Ability to manage large data sets; highly organized and adaptable.
  • Skilled at managing multiple priorities and expectations.
  • Proven relationship-building skills with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP and BPC (preferred, not required).
