THE WORK:
  • You'll prepare Independent Cost Estimates (ICE) during planning, design, and construction phases.
  • You'll review and finalize Engineer’s estimates, considering project constraints such as phasing, operations, and scheduling impacts.
  • You'll develop detailed cost estimates from conceptual plans or engineering drawings, including labor, materials, and equipment.
  • You'll generate Constructability Reports to identify design deficiencies and support realistic budgeting.
  • You'll reconcile ICEs with third-party estimates through collaborative discussions and communicate outcomes.
  • You'll analyze contractor and subcontractor bids to align with internal cost projections.
  • You'll identify production cost influencers and required field equipment for accurate estimating.
  • You'll present estimates to stakeholders and lead negotiation meetings with contractors.
  • You'll prepare material take-offs and detailed cost breakdowns for systems and subsystems.
  • You'll maintain historical cost data to support future estimate development.
  • You'll review contracts and modifications to determine fair cost allowances for scope changes.
  • You'll lead and support change order negotiations, including weekly reviews of contractor change notices.
  • You'll ensure contractual compliance and fair pricing through technical review, benchmarking, and negotiation documentation.
  • Onsite at client site: The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate our client relationships.

$208,000 - $228,800 a year

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York or Washington as set forth below.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • 20 years or more of general estimating experience directly related to both engineering and construction projects
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field
  • Certified estimating professional credential required
  • 20+ years of experience working with outside agencies i.e., FAA, General Services division, LADBS, LADWP, etc


BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:

  • A master’s degree is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with complex estimate reconciliations and change order negotiations
  • Demonstrated experience in getting independent estimates from vendors/contractors as check estimates against contractor proposal estimated costs and negotiations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction-related processes, as well as a thorough knowledge of industry practices
  • Self-starter attitude with proved results-oriented focus
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Must possess the ability to effectively interact with various departments to maintain open lines of communication
  • Comfortable operating in a team-oriented, collaborative work environment
  • Produce accurate and timely results while maintaining a customer service attitude
  • Must be detail oriented and highly organized
  • Demonstrated experience working on multiple projects at the same time
