About the Role:

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated SAP BASIS Administrator to join our IT team. This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of our SAP landscape. The ideal candidate will ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance, while providing technical leadership and support across a range of SAP systems including ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO, and Solution Manager.

Key Responsibilities

System Administration

• Perform day-to-day SAP BASIS administration activities, including monitoring system health, user and role management, and log review.

• Manage SAP system landscapes (Development, QA, Production), ensuring seamless system operations.

• Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems including S/4HANA, ECC, BW/4HANA, PI/PO, Fiori, and Solution Manager.

Upgrades and Patching

• Plan and execute system upgrades, enhancement packs, kernel patches, and OSS note applications.

• Perform SAP and HANA database upgrades, support package stacks, and Java patches.

Performance and Optimization

• Monitor and tune the performance of SAP systems and databases to ensure system stability and responsiveness.

• Perform root cause analysis and performance troubleshooting at the application and database levels.

System Refresh, Backup, and Recovery

• Perform system copies and client refreshes.

• Administer backups and implement disaster recovery procedures.

• Coordinate and support regular DR testing and documentation.

Transport Management

• Oversee SAP Transport Management System (TMS), ensuring proper transport movement and conflict resolution.

• Work closely with the development and functional teams to deploy changes in accordance with change management policies.

Security and Compliance

• Collaborate with SAP Security teams to manage user access and segregation of duties (SoD).

• Ensure compliance with audit standards and internal security policies (e.g., SOX, GDPR).

Monitoring and Documentation

• Utilize SAP Solution Manager and other tools for proactive monitoring and alert management.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum of 2+ years of SAP BASIS experience for Analyst/Senior Analyst roles.

• Minimum of 5+ years of SAP BASIS experience for Specialist/Consultant/Team Lead roles.

• Experience supporting SAP systems such as ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO, Fiori, or Solution Manager.

• Familiarity with OS-level tasks in Linux/Unix and Windows environments.

• Experience working with HANA and/or traditional RDBMS databases (Oracle, MS SQL).

Certifications (Preferred but not required)

• SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP BASIS or SAP HANA

• ITIL v3/v4 certification

Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of SAP NetWeaver architecture and system administration.

• Proficient in transport management, system copy, client copy, and system refresh activities.

• Good understanding of cloud-based SAP infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.

• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues under pressure.

• Strong communication and documentation skills.

• Team player with a proactive and collaborative approach.

• Willingness to work flexible hours and provide on-call support as needed.
