Job Title: 5G Core Network Specialist (Nokia/Ericsson) Location: Delhi-NCR/Bangalore Job Type: [Full-Time] Department: Core Network Engineering / Mobile Network Operations Reports To: Senior Manager – Core Network / Director – Network Engineering Summary: We are looking for a highly experienced and technically proficient 5G Core Network Specialist to join our advanced telecommunications team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Nokia or Ericsson 5G Core Network solutions, including deployment, integration, optimization, and lifecycle management of 5G SA (Standalone) and NSA (Non-Standalone) architectures. This role is critical in ensuring the robustness, scalability, and performance of our next-generation mobile core infrastructure. Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Network Design & Architecture • Design and document 5G Core Network architecture including AMF, SMF, UPF, AUSF, UDM, NRF, PCF, NSSF, and NEF. • Define network topologies, IP planning, and interface configurations (N1, N2, N3, N4, N6, N10, N11, N12, N13, N14, N15, N22). • Collaborate with planning teams to define capacity, redundancy, and scalability strategies. 2. Deployment & Integration • Lead the deployment and integration of Nokia or Ericsson 5G Core nodes in lab and production environments. • Configure and onboard network functions (VNFs/CNFs) on NFVI or cloud-native platforms (OpenStack, VMware, Kubernetes). • Integrate 5G Core with RAN, IMS, OSS/BSS, and external systems (e.g., Lawful Interception, Charging, PCRF). 3. Operations & Maintenance • Monitor and manage 5G Core KPIs, alarms, and logs using vendor-specific tools (e.g., Nokia NetAct, Ericsson ENM). • Perform software upgrades, patch management, and system backups. • Troubleshoot signaling and data path issues using tools like Wireshark, NetAct Trace, or Ericsson Trace Tool. 4. Performance Optimization • Analyze network performance reports and proactively identify bottlenecks or degradation. • Tune parameters for optimal throughput, latency, and session management. • Collaborate with RAN and transport teams to ensure end-to-end service quality. 5. Automation & Scripting • Develop automation scripts for configuration, monitoring, and reporting using Python, Ansible, or Bash. • Support CI/CD pipelines for network function deployment and testing. 6. Documentation & Compliance • Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, change logs, and operational procedures. • Ensure compliance with security policies, data protection regulations, and telecom standards (3GPP, ETSI, GSMA). Technical experience and Professional Attributes: • Minimum 6-9 years of experience in mobile core networks, with 2+ years in 5G Core (SA/NSA). • Proven hands-on experience with Nokia or Ericsson 5G Core Network components. • Strong understanding of 3GPP Release 15/16/17 standards and 5G architecture. • Proficiency in protocols: SCTP, HTTP/2, GTP-U/C, Diameter, PFCP, TCP/IP, TLS. • Experience with NFV/SDN, cloud-native environments, and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). • Familiarity with network slicing, edge computing, and service-based architecture (SBA). Preferred Skills & Certifications: • Nokia NSP/5G Certification or Ericsson Certified Expert – 5G Core. • Certifications in Linux, CCNA/CCNP, VMware, or OpenStack. • Experience with CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins), monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana), and automation frameworks (Ansible, Terraform). • Knowledge of IMS, VoNR, VoLTE, and interworking with legacy networks. Soft Skills: • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication and documentation abilities. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and support critical incidents. Educational Qualifications: • 15 years of education, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, or related field.
