JOB DESCRIPTION – 5G CORE Summary Client wireless technology team is looking a passionate senior mobile packet core cloud architect in the 5G core technology team which owns 5G core design, development and automation realization. Today, Client unique DSDS architecture is at the forefront of mobile data offload services in the telecom industry. As Client mobile packet core is moving towards the true cloud-native architecture, the candidate will be responsible for 5G core network function deployment over the AWS EC2 cloud. The candidate must have experiences in 4G/5G packet core network development and in AWS cloud deployment for Telco applications. The candidate must be a team player and be able to collaborate with multiple Client XFN teams to tackle the toughest problems in our industry in order to timely deliver the 5G core NFs over the AWS cloud. The candidate should also provide mentorship to the broader wireless team to support our efforts in transitioning Client 5G core network onto the public cloud. Roles and Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for 1. Migrate 5G core network functions onto AWS EC2 cloud infrastructure, with containerized architecture, 2. Collaborate with both 5G NF vendors and the AWS teams to design, develop and deploy 5G CNFs over the AWS EC2 cloud, 3. Define system requirements for 5G core CNF LCM, performance management, inventory management, security and account management, and operation automation over the AWS cloud, 4. Collaborate with Client XFN teams (e.g., security, operation, business…) to drive innovative product solutions for cloud security and operation efficiency, 5. Design, architect, and implement solutions utilizing AWS services, Kubernetes, and containerization technologies, 6. Develop and manage highly scalable and reliable 5G core CNF deployment architecture on AWS EC2 cloud to ensure optimal performance and cost efficiency, 7. Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes and related orchestration tools, 8. Stay updated with the latest advancements in AWS services, Kubernetes, and containerization technologies, and evaluate their potential impact on our infrastructure and applications, 9. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application-related issues, working closely with the development and operations teams. 10. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement automation and optimization opportunities across the infrastructure and deployment processes, 11. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical designs and specifications, 12. Develop and deliver knowledge transfer/training sessions related to 5G NF LCM, performance management and fault management to the broader packet core development and operation teams. 13. Document Operational and Maintenance Requirements and Procedures for 5G packet core CNFs operating over the AWS cloud, 14. Timely and effective communications with all stakeholders, Technical Experience and Professional Attributes: 1. 8 years’ experience in 4G/5G 3GPP packet core network development and operations, which includes lab development, field deployment, troubleshooting and issue resolving capabilities, 2. With Nokia packet core knowledge is preferred 3. 3 years’ experience in AWS cloud infra (especially EKS) architecture and development, 4. With telco cloud implementation experiences is preferred 5. Hands-on experience in AWS services: 6. Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), subnetting and security groups 7. Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), Elastic Network Interfaces and Auto Scaling Groups 8. VPC Networking: Direct Connect, VPC Peering, AWS Route 53, Transit Gateway and others 9. Container services (ECS, EKS, ECR) 10. Able to develop and comprehensively understand artifacts (CIQ, Network diagrams, call flow documents, Deployment Procedures, MOPs, Manifest files, Helm charts etc.). 11. Proven skills in Configuring, Instantiating and Troubleshooting containerized 5G packet core Network Functions over the AWS EC2 cloud, 12. Knowledge of or Professional experience with the following: 5G features, 5G associated protocols, 5G call flows, FCAPS, 13. Prior experience with creating and communicating RCA’s (root cause analysis), 14. Knowledge of Internet protocols and services including DNS, DHCP, LDAP, SMTP, and HTTP, 15. Strong team player who can collaborate in a matrix organization with an open, engaging, and inclusive approach to work; communication is essential, 16. Ability to thrive in a High-Stress environment while working with Client XFN teams, Vendors and Leadership, 17. Conveying a strong sense of urgency, responsiveness, follow-through, and successfully managing outcomes are critical to success in this role, 18. Ability to grasp higher-level technology issues and troubleshoot to resolution, 19. Ability to span departments to assist in resolving network event outages, 20. Ability to quickly learn new tools and systems, 21. Excellent communication and presentation skills, 22. Demonstrated expertise in problem solving and technical innovation, 23. Experience with distributed systems and mission-critical systems is preferred, 24. Knowledge about SDLC, Agile and Software Engineering Methodology is preferred, 25. 3 years of experiences in LTE/5G roaming design and implementation is preferred, 26. 3 years of experiences in 4G/5G network DPI designs and implementation is preferred, 27. 3 years of experiences in 4G/5G network DNS design and implementation is preferred. Educational Qualifications: 15 Years of education, BE / BTech in Telecommunications or related skills. Additional Information: Team Player15 years full time education
