Job Description

  • (Internal Title-Project Management IV)
    • Manage the full lifecycle of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems from design and, together with the testing and commissioning team, through commissioning and handover.
    • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to ensure Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems align with project goals.
    • Work closely with MEP engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
    • ⁠Review and approve MEP designs, drawings, and specifications.
    • Ensue compliance with safety standards
    • ⁠Conduct site inspections to monitor installation quality and adherence to specifications
    • ⁠Resolve technical issues and construction challenges
    • ⁠Ensure timely delivery of MEP systems and manage risk mitigation strategies
    • Significantly contribute to successful and timely handover
    • ⁠Prepare documentation, manuals, and training
    • ⁠Report progress to senior management and stakeholders.
    • Manage stakeholders such as TTC, City of Toronto and/or Metrolinx AMM (Asset Management and Maintenance)

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 12 years of experience in Project Management

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Licenses OR Certifications:
    • Holding a recognized Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Experience in delivering Systems large scale rapid transit projects including mechanical, electrical and plumbing experience
    • Project management experience on large scale rapid transit projects
    • Experience working with a large team of technical professionals and large-scale contractors
    • Knowledge of principles and practices of Systems works related to rapid transit projects
    • Demonstrated experience successfully managing the competing objectives of many external and internal stakeholders
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with experience managing a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including municipalities and third‐party utility providers
    • Demonstrated experience successfully managing the competing objectives of many external and internal stakeholders
    • Effectively leads multi-resource Project Management teams, including municipalities and third‐party utility provider
    • Strong understanding of prevailing Project Management methods
    • Extensive knowledge of tools and metrics needed to evaluate project performance
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
    • Proficient in Project Management software
    • Must maintain professional development to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods, and best practices
    • Ability to arrange priorities and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines with minimum input from leadership
    • Keen eye for detail and adept problem-solving abilities
    • Must have demonstrated experience relaying and receiving information (written and verbal)
    • Expert ability to work collaboratively and independently in a structured, disciplined, technology-driven environment
    • Proven capacity to anticipate, identify, and minimize risks
    • Expert ability to detect, capitalize, and be sensitive to others' strengths
    • Demonstrated capability to supervise, delegate, and develop capacity
    • Tact to perceive and ameliorate conflict and tension
    • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment by ensuring effective teamwork, promotion of innovation, and overall excellence
    • Demonstrated functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices
    • Proven success in providing on-site leadership for the project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
