Procurement Practice Senior Analyst, Energy

Based in Atlanta, GA, the Sourcing Execution Sr. Analyst will work as a key member of the Regulated Energy Procurement Team within Accenture's Energy Practice. This position will be responsible for providing Regulated energy services predominantly for electricity and to an extent possible for Natural gas for a range of commercial and industrial clients with a focus on reviewing their energy spend by identifying best tariffs offered by utilities, provide recommendations and implement those with corresponding utilities to optimize the energy spend. The Analyst should be versed on regulated energy markets and have experience providing energy services to clients in markets throughout North America. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, Data capture, data cleaning, review utility tariffs, build rate models, draft recommendations, proceed with recommended implementations, savings tracking and reporting. The analyst will also communicate with key client stakeholders, supplier partners, utilities, local distribution companies, and will access both public and subscription data sources to gather timely, accurate, and complete energy market intelligence and maintain required client reporting for the procurement team.
Job Requirements:
- Demonstrate industry expertise in strategies and processes in identifying potential savings opportunities under Regulated scope of work.
- Review utility tariffs, write recommendations and share it with clients. Once approved, proceed with implementing these recommendations and monitor savings and reporting.
- This role is customer-facing and will require strong communication and analytical skills.
- Oversee Value tracking and other administrative processes.
- Lead biweekly working sessions to review client data and identify potential opportunities and create a savings pipeline.
- Reporting of completed and planned tasks in weekly team meetings.
- Regular communication with Manager and Project Management (PMO) organizations.
- Serve as a regional expert, offering weekly market report content and helping to assemble market intelligence including regional utility rate cases, standard offer rate intelligence, etc.
- Deliver weekly Market Report content for expertise area by receipt deadline.
- Fulfill weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports as required by customers or business processes.
- Manage any special or strategic projects assigned.
- Present Savings recommendations to internal and client management.
- Facilitate the implementation of the approved recommendations with utilities.
- Ensure all the potential savings opportunities identified through internal high-level reviews are properly recorded in internal systems.
- Collaborate with team of energy professionals to determine optimal energy strategy for clients.
- Effectively communicate complex market and regulatory policy insights to clients.
- Develop strong support relationships with functional leaders and key site operations personnel across all business units.
- Influence thought leaders within the organization to identify and implement best practices.
- Ensure metrics, governance, and actions are in place for continuous improvement.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the areas of energy procurement, energy markets, utilities, regulatory policies, quantitative analysis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 1 year of project management experience in a corporate and/or professional services environment (experience in energy or sustainability preferred but not required).
- Ability to interface with customers, utilities and suppliers via strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite applications.
- Adaptable working style to conform to the varied corporate cultures and organizational structures of our customers.
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York or Washington as set forth below.
