The work

Our Health & Public Service industry group is responsible for Accenture’s clients within the public and healthcare sectors. We offer services throughout the entire lifecycle of digital solutions. Within our Health & Public Service industry group, we focus on innovative solutions to help our H&PS clients achieve better results.

In this group, you will work with highly driven co-workers to implement and maintain digital solutions for our clients. Our clients aim to further digitize, become more agile, reduce IT costs, and simplify their IT landscape to achieve their business objectives. The Health & Public Service industry group within Accenture focuses on innovative solutions to help public service clients achieve better results for individuals, families, and societies in the digital age.

During your internship, you will have the opportunity to experience real consulting work, develop yourself, and challenge yourself. The H&PS industry group is a leader in innovative digital solutions within the public sector. You will have the chance to work for various organizations within the government, for example within the public safety domain, and help them determine the right strategy for the future. This involves a wide range of topics, from HR transformations to the implementation of the latest technologies. Does this sound interesting to you? Then this internship in the H&PS department offers the perfect challenge for you!

  • Teams: From the H&PS Support Office, you will support the H&PS department together with your fellow interns. Together, you will be responsible for the organization and improvement of this Support Office. Additionally, you will be assigned an experienced consultant and buddy, allowing you to quickly develop new skills and gain a broad perspective on the department, the market in which H&PS operates, and the clients.

  • Daily Tasks: You will support by helping prepare client meetings and workshops, co-writing proposals for clients, and conducting research such as stakeholder analyses and market research. Additionally, we try to align your tasks with your expertise and knowledge.

  • Research: During your internship, it is possible to do either a working internship or a thesis internship. As a working intern, the focus is mainly on working with your H&PS colleagues in preparing client meetings and proposals as well as performing internal tasks. If you do a thesis internship, you will write your thesis in addition to the daily supportive H&PS tasks.

We support research topics that align with one of the following subjects:

Research on digital transformation in healthcare and/or government.
• To what extent do digital services of municipalities meet the needs of low-literate or digitally less skilled residents?
• To what extent do e-health tools, such as self-monitoring apps and teleconsultations, affect the workload of general practitioners and the perceived quality of care?

Research on the application of AI and machine learning in public services.
• To what extent can AI models be used ethically to detect signs of potential fraud in benefits or allowance applications?
• To what extent is an AI-driven triage system effective in supporting medical assistants in assessing urgency and care needs?

Research on the interoperability of systems in healthcare.
• To what extent does interoperability between healthcare systems contribute to personalized patient care in a hospital environment?

Research on the use of cloud technology within public domains.
• To what extent does the use of cloud technology affect digital services and the safeguarding of public values within Dutch municipalities?

In all our internships, we offer you the opportunity to develop yourself, orient yourself, build relationships, and gain insight into what it is like to work as a consultant. As an employer, we will be as flexible as possible to support your work as well as academic needs, and we are happy to help you kickstart your career. Therefore, during our recruitment process, we are interested in your motivations and academic interests.

Interested? Apply with your CV and motivation letter (including the period you want to do your internship). Optional: Grade list & Portfolio (depending on the industry group). Without this complete documentation, we cannot process the application.
