Job Description
The BW/4HANA and Native HANA Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions on the SAP BW/4HANA and SAP Native HANA platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, ETL processes, and the unique features offered by SAP’s in-memory technology. The ideal candidate will work closely with business analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to deliver scalable and high-performance data solutions that support the organization’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and develop data models, objects, and reporting solutions on BW/4HANA and Native HANA, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and organizational standards.
- Develop, monitor, and optimize ETL processes using SAP BW/4HANA tools (such as Data Flows, ADSOs, InfoObjects, CompositeProviders) and Native HANA components (Calculation Views, Table Functions, Procedures).
- Fine-tune data models and queries to ensure optimal performance, leveraging HANA’s in-memory processing and advanced analytic capabilities.
- Implement data governance, quality checks, and documentation to ensure data integrity across all data pipelines.
- Work in collaboration with business teams, architects, and IT to gather requirements, understand business processes, and translate these into technical solutions.
- Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to deliver reliable and accurate solutions.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all developed objects, processes, and data flows.
- Provide production support, troubleshooting, and enhancements for BW/4HANA and Native HANA solutions.
- Stay updated on the latest SAP technologies and recommend innovations to enhance system functionality and user experience.
Job Qualifications:
- Strong expertise in BW/4HANA objects: ADSO, InfoObject, CompositeProvider, Open ODS View.
- Proficient in Native HANA modeling: Attribute Views, Analytical Views, Calculation Views, Table Functions, Procedures.
- Advanced SQLScript, SQL, and performance tuning skills.
- Experience with SAP HANA Studio, Eclipse, and SAP Web IDE.
- Knowledge of data provisioning tools: SLT, SDI, SDA, BODS, and integration with external data sources.
- Hands-on experience with ETL and Data Integration best practices.
- Familiarity with SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Lumira, or other BI front-end tools is desirable.
- Understanding of SAP authorization concepts and security best practices.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for collaboration across technical and business teams.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills and Certifications
- SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP BW/4HANA.
- SAP Certified Application Specialist – SAP BW/4HANA and SAP HANA Modeling.
- Previous experience in Agile/Scrum or other modern project management methodologies.
- Experience with cloud-based SAP solutions (SAP HANA Cloud, SAP Data Warehouse Cloud).
- Proficiency with version control tools (Git, SVN) and DevOps practices.
- Working knowledge of Python, R, or other scripting languages for data science integration is a plus.
