Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Unix/Linux Administrator with hands-on expertise across Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, and Linux platforms. The role involves managing enterprise-level systems, providing 24x7 production support performing upgrades, troubleshooting complex issues, and driving root cause analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of clustering, virtualization (LDOMs, Solaris Zones), automation scripting, and performance monitoring. Roles & Responsibilities • Administer and support Unix (Solaris, AIX, HP-UX) and Linux (RHEL/OEL/CentOS/Suse/Ubuntu) environments • Manage LDOMs, Solaris Zones, and clustering technologies (HACMP, Veritas Cluster, Solaris Cluster) • Execute OS patching, upgrades, and migrations across Unix/Linux systems • Troubleshoot incidents and perform detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) • Develop and maintain automation scripts in Bash and Korn Shell (Ksh) • Support configuration management through Puppet • Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot SSSD for authentication and identity services • Monitor system performance, capacity, and health to ensure high availability • Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and RCA reports Professional & Technical Skills • Strong knowledge of Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, and Linux (RHEL/OEL/CentOS) administration • Experience with LDOMs, Solaris Zones, clustering, and high availability solutions • Proficiency in Bash/Ksh scripting for automation and troubleshooting • Familiarity with Puppet or similar configuration management tools • Expertise in SSSD,NFS,Autofs, authentication services, and security hardening, PAM, auditd • Skilled in performance monitoring and tuning using tools like nmon, topas, prstat, vmstat, iostat, sar etc. • Strong background in incident troubleshooting, RCA, and capacity planning • Good understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, NTP, TCP/IP), storage (SAN, NFS, LVM, ZFS) • Knowledge of audit/compliance processes and ITIL best practices • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI) and automation (Bash and Korn shell scripting) is a plus . Key Competencies: Strong analytical skills, problem-solving mindset, ability to work under pressure, effective communication, proactive approach, and team collaboration Additional Information • The candidate should have minimum 8 years of experience in Linux • Work Model: 24x7 rotational support environment . • A 15 years full time education is required.15 years full time education
