As a Senior Expert Animation Engineer, you will drive innovation and quality in our animation technology and workflows, focusing on performance, scalability, and rapid iteration. You will collaborate closely with engineering and content teams to deliver solutions that push the boundaries of what's possible in gaming.
You’ll help us by…
- Owning and driving animation capabilities and tooling in areas ranging from cinematic animation pipelines to gameplay animation technologies.
- Actively collaborating with content and engineering teams to learn and understand their needs.
- Supporting colleagues and leading the charge to maintain excellence in contributions to our technology and culture, enthusiastically seeking out help, code reviews, and advice.
- Mentor other engineers in engineering and animation system development.
You’re awesome because you have…
- 10+ years of experience, or equivalent education/work experience.
- Solid knowledge of working and debugging in C++, including experience profiling and optimizing systems.
- A strong understanding of a variety of areas in real-time 3D animation, such as animation blend trees, parametric animation systems, motion matching, full body IK and facial animation technologies.
- Strong communication skills for sharing ideas clearly at a range of technical levels, learning from others, and giving meaningful feedback.
- Strong mathematics skills, including proficiency with trigonometry, and linear algebra.
- Experience collaborating across disciplines, from gameplay engineering and animation to design and technical art.
- Experience shipping AAA titles
Bonus points for…
- Experience bringing ML for animation technologies to real-time or pipeline applications.
- Familiarity with animation concerns in a multiplayer game environment.
- Experience working with or contributing to in-house engine development.
