About the role

As a Director, Software Architecture at Auxo Solutions, your responsibilities encompass leading the architecture design of systems, architecting processes and solving problems for clients. Your role involves close collaboration with diverse teams, including UX designers, application engineers, technical project managers, other architects, executives and development teams. You will also be tasked with growing and leading a small team of architects to assist you on client engagements. The primary objective is to guarantee the architecture and development processes of top-tier applications that consistently exceed customer expectations.

What You'll Do

• Define and execute the strategic vision for the software consulting practice with a focus on innovation and growth for internal and external stakeholders.
• Work closely with clients to solve problems based on current needs leveraging new and old technologies.
• Act as a mentor and manager for a small team of engineers, partnering closely with other technology leaders to help the team overcome any technical issues.
• Work with the team to make sure code is meeting expectations and be thinking ahead on where the technology is and where it needs to go to support the business.
• Support the decisions that have been made with documentation and make sure this is well organized for clients and internal needs.
• Provide innovative solutions to complex problems.

Qualifications

• Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Prior experience in a consulting / client-facing role focused delivering custom software solutions required.
• At least 10 years’ experience leading technology teams, along with a deep knowledge of Software Design and Architecture.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages (C#, Java, Typescript, Go, Python, etc.) and understanding of coding best practices and processes.
• Expertise with various development frameworks, libraries, and tools relevant to the domain (.NET, Spring Boot, Serverless, React, Angular, etc).
• Insurtech and/or Fintech experience strongly preferred.
• Experience delivering software solutions following Agile methodology; proficiency with Atlassian tools such as JIRA, Confluence.

• This position may require infrequent domestic travel (to client sites).
