Health care engagements with Analysis Group involve identifying and framing valuable research questions, collaborating with leading academic experts, designing and implementing rigorous data analyses, and disseminating research findings through conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications, as well as submissions to clinical regulators and health technology appraisal authorities in markets around the world. Our research draws heavily on the growing variety of health care data, including real-world data, electronic health records, registries, clinical trials and insurance claims, as well as new data collection through medical record reviews, surveys and wearables. We also draw on and contribute to the development of innovative methodologies and new standards in statistics, machine learning, health economic modeling and data collection technologies. Our work helps define markets, demonstrate value, and inform critical business decisions for innovative health care products.
Analysis Group's Beijing office focuses primarily on providing health care research and strategic consulting to our multinational pharmaceutical and life sciences clients as well as to domestic pharmaceutical companies in China. Led by Managing Principal Eric Q. Wu, the office collaborates closely with leading Chinese academic researchers including affiliates from Peking University, Tsinghua University and other research institutes, identifies and develops high-quality data with local partners, and designs and presents research studies that meet the needs of decision makers from industry, government, and the scientific community.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
As an Economic Modeling Specialist, you will work on complex, real-world healthcare and business questions in a highly collaborative consulting environment. You will contribute to multiple projects at a time and play an important role in developing the economic evidence that supports decision-making. Responsibilities and work experiences across consulting engagements vary widely by project and may include:
- Build health economic models (e.g., cost-effectiveness models, budget impact models, cost calculators), using either Excel or R, under the guidance of senior team members
- Execute assigned economic modeling tasks and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables
- Present economic model analyses in internal meetings, and support preparation for external engagements
- Prepare technical reports aligned with HTA and reimbursement dossier requirements
- Contribute to our internal efforts to improve modeling efficiency and innovation

- A graduate degree in health economics, statistics, mathematics or a related quantitative discipline
- Experience in health economic modeling is required, particularly with approaches such as state-transition and partitioned survival models, budget impact models
- Proficiency in using software such as Excel and R
- Familiarity with economic evaluation methods and HTA requirements and guidelines
- Demonstrated ability to deliver tasks under tight timelines, both independently and collaboratively
- Strong analytical skills, including quantitative data analysis and qualitative evidence synthesis
- Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and commitment to high-quality deliverables
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and team-oriented environment
